After all that, I played Steel Soul and it was basically just another playthrough. Never had to reset, and I got 112% after making sure I did the most basic ending first ( I missed it in my first playthrough, got Sealed Siblings first instead ). Even replayed Path of Pain without any trouble.
Basically, if you've gotten comfortable with the game/bosses, and you remember any sections where you may have died before due to stupid/clumsy. For me, I died pretty pathetically once in my first playthrough, going through the path underneath Oro's place in the Kingdom's Edge. There's that section with the load of spikes and one giant hopping bug. Completely slaughtered me because I kept falling into spikes. Then I got wrecked again when I went back to grab my Shade.
On my SS playthrough, avoided that hopping chump because I knew what to expect and how to deal with them even in enclosed spaces. I entered carefully, and got out of it easy enough. As long as you remember sections like that and take no risks when you reach them, you'll be fine in SS mode.
For especially tough sections like the Trial of the Fool, definitely go back to your normal playthrough and practice practice practice.
