desktop icon does not oppen

I just bought the hollow knight and when I download it, instead of the normal icon of the game appearing, it appears as if it were a url file and when I open it the game does not open, but rather a project in visual studio, someone do you know how to fix this?

Have you tried running the game from Steam?

yes but i don´t want to open from steam every time i going to play, it is much time of waiting

OK but does it work properly when you open it from Steam? It sounds like you've just got some unrelated Visual Studio project on your desktop that doesn't have anything to do with the game.

Assuming you're on Windows (since you mentioned VS and not VS Code), the game should have installed with its own folder along with your other Steam games.

If you want to check, you can go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common and look for the "Hollow Knight" folder.

Personally I prefer using Quicklaunch icons on the taskbar for apps I want to have handy, but if you want to make a desktop shortcut, go to the game in Steam, right click it and choose "Manage > Add Desktop Shortcut."
