I don't want it to be made easier, unless you think "hand strain" is an important part of the difficulty of Pantheon 5.
1) why the heck are easy versions of bosses in the PoH? That’s pointless padding. If you’re not gonna let us fight Mantis Lords or Nosk in PoH, why make us fight Hornet 1, False Knight, etc? That alone would remove 7-10 bosses and greatly cut back the TEDIUM.
2) Glorifying charms being cut withoutba single word made publically (on discord it was stated it was too much work, but the public should know that too). That was what I was most po king forward to in the DLC
3) final boss of p5 needs tweaks so you’re not caught in 99% chance damage situations. Similarly more delay in the tri-beam attack would be appreciated
To this point I loved any challenge and DLC that came with the time. I love that I could go against some realy tough enemies and get on top. I also like that I could spare like 30 minutes to try on and on the Nightmare King. But this DLC forced me to TRAIN on the training grounds to be able to beat the very hard boss, like Pure Vessel, in the boss rush. AND I DONT LIKE THAT! And you know why? Becouse to be able to beat a boss rush I need to be able to beat the boss, lets say, 3 times in the row. AND THAT FREAKING SUCK DONKEY BALLS! AND YOU KNOW WHY?! BEOUCSE EVERY TRY ON THE NIGHTMARE LORD OR RADIANCE WAS A "WIN OR LOSE". IF I WON IT WAS YEAH I FINALLY BEAT HIM/HER/IT. BUT WITH THIS STUPID FREAKING MODE I DONT GET THE RUSH WHILE FINALLY BEATING A BOSS! I GET "yay... i have beaten that guy that I killed over and over again...yuppy....". And that sucks bumms! I would prefer that the first kill of Pure Vessel or that that new Radiance was THE kill. Not just crappy thing after 30 kills on the training grounds...
wtf did i just read. lol
This sums up pretty much all of my critique to this expansion.
I just got to the end of P5 and as expected was anihilated by AR so now I'm practicing her in the Hall of Gods... Instead of complaining to Team Cherry right away about the difficulty of the expansion I've been practicing and trying to beat P5 in the last couple of days, as a few people in these discussions have been telling others to do... Now I can say that as I practice and get better and better I just realize that, yes, I'll eventually beat it the way it is, but also that this expansion would definitely be better off with a few nerfs... Specially for the sake of consistency with the rest of the game.
Quite frankly, I'm just a consumer/fan expressing his opinion.
Why is hornet 1 in it when you need to get through hornet 2 later on? Why fight the false night when you'll need to face failed champion not 25 minutes later?
A majority of bosses have their place in the final pantheon, but having to get through it once to unlock practice with AR, and then having to go through it again just for one shot at beating it is a little gratuatous. A lot of people complaining just don't want to go through 45 minutes of the same thing over again for 45 minutes because they have other stuff to do!
25-35 I can get, because it's the last pantheon and all the last bit of content we're getting for this game other than the hornet DLC, but 45 is just so much time to pour into what will probably be a failed stab at the final boss.
Let's imagine you could only complete Godmaster after at least 100 hours of gameplay, when playing in "radiant difficulty" with "all bindings", while the game automatically turns into "steel soul mode" mode while in Godhome, and the battles do not count as "dream battles" anymore. I other words: 100 houes of playing and then one hit and the whole progress is erased. Ludicorus, isn't it? But the handfull of people who could still beat the game, still could argue: "Godmaster isn't supposed to be easily completet". That's why the sentence is not helping.
And as long as the "true ending" (truer ending? truest ending? whatever...) is hidden behind the 5th pantheon challenge, I wouldn't call it "optional" but part of the main story.
And I don't think that "difficulty" is THE ONE complain about Godmaster. Of course there are people who complain about it, but from what I can see is that "repitetive gameplay" (defeating the same bosses over and over again) and "random chances" with some of the enemies are more of a problem for many people.
That's exactly my problem with this DLC.
Introduce new bosses
Introduce new lore
Introduce glorified charms (
Introduce the begining of hornet's dlc
STALL long enough to make the begining of hornet's dlc a surprise. This obviously wasn't very effective, but I suppose it might of just been a challenge. Anyways it iiiiiiis completely optional (although the lore iiiiiis a reward in and of itself) and it doesnt give anything comparatively to the rest of the game. It's like bringing the delicate flower to other people from the traitor's grave. Pointless! (I wanted myself a 12th charm notch, but oh well)
When compared to other dlcs it is a little lackluster (lifeblood added areas everywhere, hidden dreams as a whole, etc) it's still pretty nice. Although people say it being free doesn't excuse it's "garbageness," its free. If it had been paid I wonder if there would have been complaining. I suppose there's just no pleasing some people.
Anyways, if it's too hard. Watch a video. Don't play it. Cheat sheet it, etc. Just don't complain about it guys. IT'S FREE! SERIOUSLY! Just be glad it isn't an EA title (crystal caverns: $5)
If there is a slippery slope of difficulty that eventually leads to that I would be fine with it. What you are describing sounds like a roguelike, this time they made a bossrush. Team cherry aren't idiots, if they decided to make something like that I would buy it.
What I just wanted to say is that you can always argue with "Godmaster isn't supposed to be easily completed" no matter how difficult or (not) tedious it is, and not matter how good or bad the gameplay is. That's the reason why it's not helping.
Ye but godmaster isn't objectively bad either, it's made for people who appreciate that sort of challenge. I see people complaining about the length and stuff like that and I think it's 50 percent it's not made for you and 50 percent you would appreciate it if you were actually good enough.
Not to forget that some on your side have made claims about how hard it is and how you are probably never going to make it. You tried to set it up like an elite vs commoner issue. You have made claims about how you are the majority and it's unfair. From my perspective you guys are moving about like hermit crabs to the next best argument as soon as your old one gets destroyed.
In the end the only thing that can help you is to git gud.
