Mothwing cloak bug

So I have the mothwing cloak but the game wont let me dodge.
The cloak shows up in my inventory and it tells me to hit RT to dodge but nothing happens when I do.
Is this a known bug with anyway to fix?

Check your controls, try to rebind the Dash ability to the same button again. And also check your inventory to see if you actually have the Mothwing Cloak. If none of that helps, then maybe try reloading your save.

Rebinding showed me the triggers on my Switch pro controller were not registering with the game.
Hit the "Native controller" option in the options screen and it is all fully working.
