Bug with mod installer

Every time i open mod installer it says me to update to the latest version of the game.
i know that the usual solution is to go to the beta of 1.4 but even after i do this it keeps saying to update to the last version of the game.
has anyone got this same bug and found a solution of it?
update: it somehow fixed.... but now there's a messaje that says "unable to find game files. make sure that the game is installed and try again"

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the mod installer? If you did, how did you do it? (I had to do a more involved kind of uninstallation once and I wonder if something along those lines might help.) I'd highly recommend checking the HK Discord for instructions on how to manage mod installer issues.

i did reinstall it a LOT of times but thanks for the advice with the discord

The old mod manager doesn't work with the newest version of the game, if I remember correctly. You have to downgrade to an older beta game version (I've heard you need to downgrade to the 1.4.3.2 beta, but you'll have to test this for yourself) or get a more up to date mod manager. The newer and more up to date Scarab mod manager seems to work, but it doesn't yet have all of the mods that the old one has.

Once you have the mod manager up and going though you might be able to manually drop in the mods into the Mods folder and they'll work, as I'm planning on trying with Scarab (please do tell me if you're sure it won't work though).

@Hotlou, look at the original post. They already said they downpatched to 1.4.3.2, so it should be another issue.

@OP: The type of uninstall and reinstall I'm talking about included manually deleting files and folders on your computer, including one of the config files for HK, and then verifying game files, and then reinstalling the mod installer again. Did you do all of that?

Make sure you are using the .exe file downloaded from the official link website, not from some external modding sites.

i've been using that one and it doesn't work, i've also tried other ones but they also didnt work

Which version of mod installer do you have, and did you check the tips on the Discord? I'm sure they'll have covered whatever's happening for you already. Maybe you've verified this already but just in case, remember there's a modding app for 1.4.3.2 (with more mods available currently) and another newer one that works with 1.5+.
