Why is the Colosseum so hard for me?
I beat hornet sentinel, ummu, watcher knights, grey prince zote all on my first try. Yet I am on my tenth try on trial of the fool and I can't get halfway through.
What is wrong with me?

Try out different charm setups with Quick slash, U. Strength, Shaman stone etc.,

Even if you're skilled at the game and have all the upgrades, Trial of the Fool is definitely a slog. In part because of how long it lasts.

Bob's charm recommendations are pretty solid, so apart from that, the only suggestion I can think of is to make good use of your spells.

Which parts give you trouble?
Remembering to take breaks can definitely help, if you aren't doing that already.
(Also, first try Watcher knights and GPZ? Good job!)

Thanks! I got fed up with the Colosseum so I decided to make progress in the main game and went through all three dreamers in one go. But saying I did those in one try might be a bit dishonest, this is my only play-through on steam, about 2 years and a half ago I got the game on humble bundle before I had steam, and my computer had to be repaired so I lost the save file so I had not played the game since.

The part that gives me trouble is when the walls come in and the floor is replaced with spikes, specifically the one with the Battle Obbles.

the part with the spikes the easiest way i found was to pogo on the enemies then dash back to the wall when thay died.
abyss shriek works as well to get a lot of enemies at once

Thanks I'll try that.

^^^ The movement tip above reminds me of a suggestion I gave someone recently who had concerns about the floorless section, and the Abyss Shriek is a great addition to that as it's a powerful spell (esp. with Shaman Stone). You can probably keep building on this from there, if you haven't got it already.

Defeating those bosses the first time is certainly rare and impressive, but this game has a range of challenges, so being good at one part of it (or a couple of bosses) is not a guarantee of being great at everything you'll come up against. Colosseum trials are a challenge of both endurance, and platforming skill. You might get lucky and brute force it, but it becomes much easier and less likely to be stressful if you treat any challenge you come across as a puzzle to solve.

Got a problem with one type of enemy? Take that type of enemy out as quickly as possible. Need more soul for healing? Saving slow enemies to the end of a wave delays the progression to the next wave so you can get the soul (or healing time) you need. Need more damage to take enemies out faster? Make sure you've got the charms and upgrades you need. Nail arts are very helpful in Colosseum, too. If you're having problems with platforming, then I'd suggest doing some of the game's platforming challenges and coming back later.

If you aren't concerned about being spoiled on the boss at the end of a Trial, then you can watch videos online to see how others handle Colo as well.

The thing that's sleeper OP for Trial of the Fool is Fragile Strength, Nailmaster's Pride. Using great slash and dash slash is really good for dealing with most enemies. Also, the arena does one thing that most fights in the whole rest of the game don't do. You have to wall jump while fighting. It takes a lot of practice at first.

It sounds like fighting in an arena with no floor is what's giving you difficulty, which is fair because unlike any of the bosses you have cleared spikes will completely reset you with one touch. You can practice bouncing off of little obstacles in the background in almost any area of the game to get used to moving around in the air while fighting, but what I really recommend is clearing the white palace (and especially the Path of Pain). By the time you finish with those you will laugh in the face of spikes.

Alright, I am practicing my platforming in the White Palace. I thing the reason why my platforming is so bad is because of my keyboard and keybindings.
I have a weird keyboard where the down arrow button is split in two keys one for the up arrow and one for down meaning tat Right Shift takes up the space of where the up arrow key would be, which I normally use for jump
so I redid my keybindings:

Y - down
LEFT ALT - attack
C - dash
SPACE - up
RIGHT SHIFT - jump
Left Arrow and Right Arrow - left and right

keep in mind that I do not have the standard English keyboard so Y and Z are switched.
Do you have any tips to improve my keybindings?

There are some threads people have made in the past where they asked what keyboard bindings keyboard-based players recommend. I suggest doing a simple search in the General section and I'm sure you'll find some layout ideas in some of those threads. :hollowknight:
