Seriously though, nice work!
I'm sure you'll figure things out for the HK fight on your own, but let us know where you're stuck if you want spoiler-free tips. When in doubt, use those nail bouncing skills you've acquired to get up on HK's oversized head, bounce once or twice and use your down spell for decent damage (especially with Shaman Stone) + valuable invincibility frames.
I seem to remember that when HK is staggered, any damage you do is reduced to 1 point per hit so it's better to heal if your soul meter is full. (Someone might correct me on this one if I'm wrong-- I can't remember 100% for sure but I'm pretty sure this boss takes reduced damage during staggers like a certain other more infamous one does. (For anyone wondering, I'm not talking about PV but NKG during the turning-into-bats stagger phases.)
*edit* Also. I think this is a really good fight for learning how to pogo moving targets. If you find you get hit by HK's ground dash a lot, try hopping straight up and using your nail at the same time. If your hitboxes connect, you'll be the one doing contact damage and not HK, unless you somehow still directly in the path of the lunge. As soon as you're slightly above it, you should be good. If your'e not sure you'll make it high enough in time, just hitting the direction away from where the enemy is coming from can make a difference a lot of the time, as angling up and away buys you time. (Other good fights to learn this on include Broken Vessel, or Soul Master.)
That is dope (bouncing on 'mushrooms', heh)!
Surely Dash should have been bass voice again, surely :D
I feel John Peel would be playing this.
Your music reminded me a little of some musical influences that were popular with some musician friends of mine in the past. Anyway, unless you and your kids are a lot older than I expect, I'm sure it's more the time and engagement factors than actual age that has anything to do with skill developed. If people are too busy to play or if they (understandably) have more pressing or more engaging matters to attend to, their learning curve is probably going to be a little longer, all else being equal. If you really wanted to, and you had the time to put in, there's probably no reason you couldn't play as well as anyone else.
Thanks tintingaroo - I did apparently get a song played by John ....godhome rest his soul Peel back in the day but it was just the once and i missed it.....which still haunts me!
