Lost my 112% save :( Any way to recover please ?

As title says,I recently went back onto HK to play after a break in playing. Alas my 112% save has totally gone and i don't know how to get it back. Any way i can ? Not sure why it disappeared ? I didn't delete it,as i wanted to continue with God home as i was stuck.

You could maybe check your steam cloud saves for any old saves, and download them into

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight\

(if you're on windows). I'm not really sure. How did you lose your save in the first place? Did you switch to a different PC? But even if you did, they should still be backed up in steam cloud.

Thank-you Coco. I don't know how the file disappeared/deleted. I play on another pc but the file was still on this pc until i tried yesterday to carry on with the pantheons. I will try to download one of the files and see what happens. Much appreciated !

Playing on another PC is probably what caused it. It might be a failure to sync your save files, since cloud saves definitely aren't flawless at keeping up. I've had issues there, as have others. TC was even good enough to increase the memory storage cap in the last year or so, but it's probably just a wonky Steam-related thing at this point. If you want to keep swapping computers with the same Steam account, you should back up your saves and send them between the computers manually. (The .bak files are in the folder Coco mentioned above, simply numbered by save slot order.)

You should be able to bring back the automatic backup save file from a .bak1 file in the save file location for Hollow Knight that Coco linked. The developers create it automatically.

Files shouldn't just disappear by themselves. Some action someone undertaken on that PC throughout that time caused it. One of these things might have caused it:
— Playing on a different operating system (Hollow Knight doesn't have cross-platform Steam Cloud enabled)
— Reinstalling/Refreshing operating system (this can lose personal files)
— Playing on a different local system user account (save files are per-account)
— As Steam Cloud can be unreliable, it could just fail to sync the save files at some point when closing the game or logging in/out/exiting Steam
— Logging in on Steam on a different Steam account on the same local system user account (this is a good way to lose personal files, like saves, when either of two Steam accounts have Steam Cloud enabled)
