PS4 controller stops working after minutes

as the title says, my controller ignores any input, and the game automatically switches to the keyboard. Pad works easily with other games and it isconnected via usb, even if I can use BT. any idea on how to resolve it? thx

steam settings > controller > general controller settings > uncheck the boxes if there are and that should work, it did for me when i started using my PS4 controller. and it also changes the ingame controller map so it should show the ps4 controller and not the xbox controller. hope that helps.
