All in all, don't stay too close, as his run speed is faster than the Knight's so he'll trample you if you try to run away from him. You should always prepare for him to do fake-outs - do a second dash when he does his big slam attack (the one with his nail rather than his body) and wait to use your double jump during his running nail attack in case he flops over instead.
When he summons explosive zotelings, use your shade soul (forward spell) to get rid of them from afar, as having to deal with his awkward patterns AND two-damage bombs is never a good time.
Best time to attack is when he summons the other zotelings, the flies and hoppers, as he stands completely still for a good while.

This is really important if he's just walking towards you. In general, ALWAYS shadow dash when jumping over him or going under him.
I activate dive if he does mean triple wavy jumps
I avoid pogoing him because he will jump into me
I try to stay in the center of the arena
I use shade soul to kill explosive zotelings
I just keeps dealing tons of nail damaging when he is summoning zotelings
