DOOR STUCK! Bug with the chained door between Fungal Wastes and City of Tears?

I found the badge to open the door between Fungal Wastes and City of Tears, and I believe I opened it, but when I came back later to backtrack it is sealed again. Is this intentional, or is this a bug? If this is on purpose, how do I open it again?

This is intended, explore the new location and eventually you will find an exit. Or some sort of transportation.

It seals itself after you go in. There are other routes in and out of the City of Tears you should be able to use.

Maybe you dashed by too fast to notice... The door actually shuts down right as you pass it. And makes a really loud noise.

You are not able to ever open it again. But maybe you will find other ways... I won't spoil you anything 🙂

Yup! Welcome to the sprawling City of Tears. It might seem a little claustrophobic at first, but it's actually a pretty big place with lots of ways in and out. That door isn't one of them, though you might eventually find one nearby if you explore City a bunch more. :')

You want to get back in using the same route you get out the city. You’ve probably miss the city stag station. But it is not a problem just go back and find it.

Thank you all for clarifying! I have been several times to City of Tears and have found many ways back in. I just happened to be in the area and this would be the fastest way to City of Tears. Now that I know it will never open again, I can begrudgingly go around every time.

Ah yes, I understand. There's also a door between Fungal Wastes and City of Tears (I think it's at the big elevator near the City Storerooms stag station. On my first playthrough, I thought a certain late game item, the King's Brand, would also open that door up, but it didn't! (Not that there would have been any use, other than possibly skipping a section of Crossroads and Fog Canyon during the flower quest, I suppose? But I probably had already done the "quest" at that point anyway.)

Fungal Wastes has another far less noticeable door like that one, which actually does open up and connect somewhere eventually, so I thought there'd be a way to open that one up too. :')
