wall to break zote out of deep nest bugged

it wont break, even though im hitting it, i tried the nail and shrieking abyss, but it wont break, its my second playthrought, after leaving him to die in the first one

Are you sure you are trying to break him out the normal way? I don't remember having to break walls to release Zote. Try coming back there from above and left.

Shrieking Abyss is the spell that goes up, meaning you are extremely likely doing it wrong. That wall is your exit, not your entrance.

IIRC, you save Zote by entering from another room, however in the same room as zote, off to the right, you stand under an area with props above you and they make a breaking sound, perhaps you got that confused with a breakable roof? It has fooled me on 3 separate playthroughs. To get to Zote you enter a room in which you need to kill a few enemies to be able to enter the next room and free Zote. I hope this is helpful.
