What are your keyboard bindings?

I use WASD for movement, J for attack, K for jumping, L for dash and E for focus/spells, and I was wondering what are your options to play this game on keyboard. Is using the arrows + ZXC really that better?

I used to have a controller but had to sell, and now I'm struggling to use keyboard, dying every time on 4th pantheon.

I don't use keyboard, but I just happened to notice you're using the same key for spells and focus. You should be able to bind your spells to a separate, more convenient "Quick Cast" button and I would highly recommend it. Other than that, you should do what you're most comfortable with.

In some way, it doesn't harm to use in the same button because focus requires to hold, tapping just cast the spell. I have a quick cast binded in N key.

Spells cast quicker when you use the Quick Cast keybind instead of using focus to cast, there's less of a delay, it's noticeable but you should use what you're conformable with instead of using what other people use.

My keybinds are pretty standard. All I really did is move my keybinds upwards. So instead of having z,x, and c as jump, attack, and dash, I set it to a,s,d and vice versa

Yeah. I originally changed my keybinds to wasd for movement and used my mouse for attacks and dashing. However I quickly realized that the default keybinds are much better. The keybinds I was currently using felt clunky and made it hard to move and use spells. I then switched back to the "default" keybinds and everything felt much better. It took a bit of getting used to, but I personally think that the default keybinds are very good

I'm gonna give it a second try then, because I see a lot of people using it, specially speedrunners that play on keyboard like Monhstaler

Fairly close to the defaults: arrow keys for movement and aiming up/down, C = jump (middle finger), X = attack (ring finger), space = dash (thumb, though I may switch to index finger every now and then), Z = focus/cast (pinkie), V = crystal dash (index finger), D = dream nail (middle finger). I found I never really missed having Quick Cast bound.

I play (or, used to play) a lot of FPS games so mouse would've been a logical choice, but there's no directional 3-D aiming in this game so I feel it'd only be confusing and frustrating having my hand on the mouse but not having its primary function be utilized. In fact, even when I play old FPS games with keyboard-only, I'll go left-hand for actions and right-hand on arrow keys for movement/looking.

For me:
arrows for movement
space = jump
X = dash
left shift = attack
A = spell

Fits perfectly to my hand so I just rest my left hand on the keyboard and it's very convenient. I use this setup for Celeste and some other games of this type as well. I only use WASD for games that require a mouse.

I think this might by causing some of your problems. You have to to take one of your fingers off motion keys to use the spell key, that isn't ideal. I would advise binding it somewhere close to JKL so you can conveniently use it with your right hand.

For me this keybindigs are normal. I did complete pantheon like this so I can say it's ok.
