Randomizer mod recommendations
I've got a week vacation lined up and I'd like to revisit Hollow Knight, but want to spice it up a bit. I figured I'd give the randomizer mods a go, but there's a ton of options and I'm a bit confused on what to do. What would be a good place to start?
I was thinking of using the enemy randomizer mod with all settings to "off" (i.e. enemies are consistently randomized) along with Randomizer 3 mod in Room Randomizer mode with "Duplicate items" off and Easy+Basic presets.

For anyone with experience with these mods: would that produce a playable game? If not, does anyone have suggestions for how to improve the experience?

Difficulty-wise, I've managed to reach the Land of Storms (hence I'm not too afraid of the enemy randomizer) but I'm not a speedrunner (hence the "Easy" preset in Randomizer 3).

Yeah, that would definitely be a playable game as far as I'm aware. It wouldn't be as chaotic as constantly changing enemy spawns (including or excluding the Godhome variant/exclusive bosses) with item and room randomizer with cursed on. The only issue I'd see is that you might get bad luck with room randomization and not be able to progress as easily, but that's what you have benchwarp for lol

The Room Randomizer specifically tries to give you seeds that're beatable - even without duplicate items - as I've seen people say, and so far out of the few attempts I've given the mod I didn't encounter an impossible seed. As long as you can get to the Mantis Claw it's basically guaranteed to work. The main challenge is trying to find every possible location you can go to and reaching as many items as possible, since you don't know where upgrades are at and will have to deal with scenarios that normally don't occur in the vanilla game. Sometimes you'll explore every single door to all of its dead-ends, and get stuck because you missed a single exit in one of those rooms, and not know it.

For the Enemy Randomizer, I imagine there is still the issue where the Collector's scream, or Soul Tyrant's spawn-in animation, activates upon entering a room where they've been spawned into. Those animations trigger soon enough that it will cause the Knight to lock in place and be pushed back through the door and into the previous room. Perhaps that's been resolved by the mod creator, but I haven't touched the game for a while so I don't know for sure. If that does happen you can turn on Chaos mode to re-randomize the room, enter the room, and then turn the option back off to have spawns return to being persistent.

Awesome! Good to know about the room randomizer guaranteeing a possible setup; that's quite a smart way to set things up. I'm gonna give these settings a try. Thanks for the advice and heads-ups, you both! I'll leave the thread on subscribed in case someone has other things to add.
