why the ♥♥♥♥ is the button for focus is the same as the spell cast?
when ever i cancel my focus i end up casting a spell, they should unbind the spell cast on the focus, since it already has its seperate button, or maybe im just being stupid and theres an option menu for this?

You shouldn't be casting a spell when ending focus, that's weird.
Focus and cast will always be the same input, but you can also set a separate key for only casting.
when i cancel a focus a little too fast the game thinks im casting a spell

Likely means your thumb is lingering on the button a touch too long and you're accidentally (releasing and immediately) re-pressing the button. Used to happen to me lots and I've seen others mention it too), but it hardly ever happens to me now and I'm sure the others got used to it as well. Whenever I need to stop focusing, I finish by lifting my thumb completely off the button without any hesitation.

Yeah, that's kinda annoying. Just don't heal unless you know you will have time to cancel.
Buttons are often bound to different actions in games depending on the situation, because of players convenience, limits of the controllers, making controls simple etc.. However, sometimes this can backfire, like in the case of cast/focus. Like the issues you already mentioned, additionally sometimes the game casts a spell even when exiting the menu with the B/Red controller button.

I have a feeling a better approach might be to separate the two actions. Make the B/Red button exclusive for casting, and the other button (reserved for quick cast) a focus-only button.

It actually makes no sense at all.

We already have another button for spells. The dev didn't need to attach spells to the heal button as well.

It's not so much about getting use to it. Sometimes, you just trigger a spell by accident for no reason.

I don't like it neither. But my most common misscast is when exiting menu. Or even, not when canceling heal, but when trying to heal, maybe I miss the button and don't press it propperly and end up casting instead of healing.
Not my favourite thing on this game, I guess.

I never actually use A for spells. I use F for spells and A for focus. I guess I got used to this style of playing

Any way on removing the double function of focus/cast? Just focus would be enough.

Only by using Quick Cast action exclusively for spells and holding Focus/Cast Action for healing. Unfortunately, we can't separate Focus specifically.
