Help! I can't focus but I'm able to use vengeful spirit?

So I reset my computer a few weeks ago. I completed Hollow Knight, got 112%, had every ability, etc... My focus worked really well before the restart. Like I completely wiped my computer and all my data on steam was saved on a backup. Once I downloaded Hollow Knight back, all my stuff was there, except my focus. Steel Soul and the God Seeker profiles have been randomly discarded. I was just about to do a steel soul run but now the profile is gone. I've been posting on Reddit to find out if anyone has had this problem. I even went to the save file online to see what's wrong with the focus and see if I can potentially get it back.
Did anyone have this problem? I've been trying to fix it for over a week. Do you think somehow the reset ruined my focus?

What button are you using to cast? There's a 'quick cast' button that uses spells immediately, and the focus button that heals if you hold it and casts after a delay if you tap it. It's possible you're trying to use 'quick cast' to heal

I have it set to the B button on my controller. I made another save file so I can get other achievements like leaving Zote to die. I'm able to focus on that, but not my 112% save

Like Darc Vader said, check your controls on that save. It really sounds like instead of using Focus, you're using Quick Cast. Remember, you can cast spells like Vengeful Spirit with two buttons, but you can only heal with *one* out of those two buttons.
