Missing Grub Pin. Help!?

I'm currently only missing a single grub, I got the collectors map and have adventured the whole map. Although I don't see the last grub pin on the map. Help? Is there a way to fix this or will I have to go through all the grub locations to find him?

There are a few that are sort of outside the smaller zone maps that can be a bit of trouble to see. Check North-Eastern Deepnest, Northern Hive and Western Crystal Peak. Those are the locations of some easily missed grubs on the map.

I've already gotten those, Even so shouldn't they still be pinned on the map?

No, the pins should disappear when you get the Grub I believe

Yeah, you should still see them if you hadn't collected them.

Mods could cause issues if you're using any.

Try verifying game files (how to: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335) could also rest at a bench, then recheck map. Check you have the map markers set to be visible, and check number of grubs collected statistic.

If that doesn't get the pin shown or update the statistic, maybe the grub pin is obscured by custom markers? Lift customs, could also cycle through the option to hide the other markers from displaying (don't think any would get in the way though, also can't remember if the grubs get their own layer or not...)

If you still don't see it, check if you have the charm Grubberfly's Elegy.
If you don't have it, go to the grub father and see if you get it then. Him giving it to you should depend on having 40/40 grubs though...


If no success, then I'm currently thinking next step will be using the save analyser tool or uploading your save file for someone to check out.

The really important question is: how do you know that you are missing exactly one Grub? I mean, from where did you get this knowledge? The game doesn't show the player how many grubs there are and how many they found. 🙂

Try doing what tintingaroo wrote, very good advices. If you've got Grubberfly's Elegy, then you found 'em all!

Okay thanks! I'll try to verify my files since I haven't done that. I'm also not using mods,so that shouldn't be the case.

Also, I know I'm supposed to get a charm and the metamorphosis achievement when getting all the grubs and since I don't have either of those I wouldn't have found all of them. At first I thought I got all of them since there were no more pins on the map and the grub room seemed to be full, but I noticed only one spot without a grub so I just assumed I was only missing one.

Yeah, you can see whether there's any empty nests around the Grubfather to count how many you've missed. If there's one empty nest, then you've missed one.

Anyway, it might help if you search the board for people with similar problems as well. For example this thread had two people that solved a similar problem: https://steamcommunity.com/app/367520/discussions/0/1752358461543824642/ and I found another thread where someone had put another map pin precisely on top of a grub...

I just logged into the game and had a few pins still on my map and well, there was a grub directly under one of them... haha

This is a really interesting problem. So based on the thread I see two potential places to check:
— above Crystallized Mound
— above Teacher's Archives
May be more, if the glitch persists in other places.

Can you check those places for the missing Grub? If they are not one of them, I would ask you to share your save file and then I can compare it to my save and tell you exactly which one Grub you are missing.

Also, I noticed that the Grub pins from a specific big area don't appear on the map, if I didn't go there yet (if I didn't see the big on-screen text of the name of the big area yet). For example I acquired the Collector's Map before going to Deepnest, and none of the Grubs from there were on the map. They appeared only after going into that area for the first time. Could be related to why this problem appears.

I found the grub, he was in crystal peak. I'm assuming I marked him on the map before I got the collectors map and I had put the mark directly over him so I couldn't see him. I rescued him and have now gotten the achievement and charm. Thanks for your help guys :)
