How do ppl know where to go after Kingsoul?

Topic. I found the White Lady and reached the Pale King. I do know where to go next, the bottom of the Ancient Basin, from reading around.

BUT

How do ppl know to get there in the first place? I just want to know the legit in-game hints that tell you how to find Birth Place.

You’re supposed to put it together from a combination of things. The main room of the Abyss’ floor being made of Vessel shells and the presence of the Siblings hint at your own origins, and the door that the King’s Brand opens to get in to the Abyss in the first place hints at it being the origin of the Hollow Knight.

Before getting the King's Brand, Hornet tells you

But could you raise your nail once knowing its tragic conception? And knowing yourself?...
Then do it, Ghost of Hallownest! Head onward. Burn that mark upon your shell and claim yourself as King.

so the King's Brand is necessary to learn how you were created. It grants access to the Abyss, where there's a lore tablet that says:

Our pure Vessel has ascended.
Beyond lies only the refuse and regret of its creation.
We shall enter that place no longer.

i.e. the Abyss contains the leftovers of the creation of the pure Vessel. What's actually inside the Abyss? Tons and tons of dead bodies that look exactly like you, as well as creepy ghosts that look exactly like the creepy ghost that comes out of you whenever you die. That should make it pretty obvious you were created (i.e. born) inside the Abyss.

You also met Hornet waiting for you standing on the edge of the Abyss (I think it was after acquiring the Shade Cloak). The game already has shown you before that where is Hornet, there is game progress. You always follow her.

The first you fight Hornet (in Greenpath) she is standing by the body of another Vessel.
Also Broken Vessel met in Ancient Basin hints that something might be near...

White lady, when wearing the KingSoul:

When completing the white palace, you get some text which reads (if i remember correctly) : "Soul of Wyrm, Soul of Root, Heart of Void".
