Hollow Knight 1.0.3.1 live on public beta.
Hollow Knight's latest patch is now available on the beta branches!

To access a beta branch, right-click on 'Hollow Knight' in your Steam library, click properties, select the 'Betas' tab, then select one of the following:

Windows PC: public-beta-
OSX: beta-osx-
Linux: beta-linux-

- Fixed issue where charms that increase nail-slash size didn’t apply while wallsliding.
- Fixed issue where in-game timer displayed incorrect playtime.
- Fixed issue where Soul Twister’s orb projectiles could get stuck in mid-air permanently

- Fixed an issue where players could become stuck behind a gate in Greenpath.

- Fixed issue where doublejump would fire instead of normal jump, resulting in a lame floaty jump.
- Fixed display issue for Shade Marker on map.
- Fixed issue where Hornet’s needle hitbox could stay active if stunned mid-attack.
- Fixed issue where super-dashing or quaking into a Vessel Fragment or Mask Fragment produced strange results.
- Fixed issue where rage-quitting during death sequence could leave impatient players with missing Geo but no Shade.
- Fixed Dream Dialogue not displaying correctly in late-game area.
- Fixed issue where quaking down into another scene caused a second loss of Soul.
- Fixed issue where player couldn’t super-dash from the very edge of a platform.
- Fixed issue where players could get stuck behind a gate in White Palace.
- Fixed issue where Shade music could be faintly heard at incorrect times.
- Slight amendment to Uumuu battle. No longer causes a large knockback while shrivelled. Increased HP a little to compensate.
- Fixed an issue where stunning Dung Defender early left you fighting him without his extremely good theme playing in the background.
- Increased Fury of the Fallen’s damage multiplier from x1.5 to x1.75.
- Fixed issue where incorrect congratulations message was displaying after finishing game on Steel Soul mode.
- Fixed issue where breakable wall near a Hive exit could get the hero stuck moving left automatically.
- Fixed issue where map screen could be accessed without actually acquiring the map first.
- Fixed issue where striking a Warrior Dream with the Dream Nail as their ‘defeat’ animation plays could cause a soft-lock under certain circumstances.
- Fixed issue where footsteps could be heard during cutscenes
- Fixed issue where white flames weren’t showing on enemy corpses when they were killed by spell.
- Slight refinements to map room display
- Various enemy fixes
- Various interface/menu fixes
- Various SFX/Music fixes
- Various graphical fixes
- Small optimisations to enemy damage effects.

So many little annoying bugs fixed, definitely going to improve quality of life, good job guys. I'll check it out and see if there's anything else considering I'm going through my last steel soul playthrough.

Great! Most common bugs eliminated. That'll make life much easier (although i haven't suffered from any of these so far :3)

Tryed the beta patch, but game performance get worse with that.

I played 16 hours on a old laptop without problem.
With this beta patch comes a lot of sound "freeze/lag" and loading time increase as well.

I hope those thing will be fix becouse will ruin my experience with the game. Now, I'm restoring the game like previous beta patch.

EDIT:

I tryed to run the game in d3d9 mode. This solve the sound problems, but not the increased load time. I will keep the beta patch, but I say again: without beta pacth no problems also in d11 mode.

EDIT 2:

BUG: turn off the V-sync ( d3d9 ) turn the character invisible. Turn on the V-sync or go through a loading screen doesn't fix the problem. Only way is quit the game to main menu and load savegame.

This issue I've been having still hasn't been fixed;

"My game freezes when I try to enter the door in the Black Egg Temple after the bench that adds game completion percentage. I've tried restarting steam and verifying my game files, nothing works. The game becomes unresponsive and this keeps going on indefinitely.

Turning V-sync on or off makes no difference.
Any heap size makes the game crash on the main menu, and only -NoHeap works but gives me the issue mentioned above."

Finished my steel soul run I posted about before and got all achievements in the game. I found no issues except a typo at my steel soul win screen where it says "skilfully" instead of skillfully. Thanks for fixing the bugs, it definitely helped with my trial of fools.

Hey, could you please do the following:
1. Navigate to your Hollow Knight content folder - Right Click on HK in Steam Library -> Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files
2, There will be directory "hollow_knight_Data/" and possibly multiple other related to crash dumps with the date appended. Ideally, it would be better to completely delete extra folders related to crash dumps and reproduce issue again in-game and then use the newly made crash dump. Pack it into ZIP/RAR/7z archive and upload somewhere.

arena is unplayable... I don't want to play anymore... please fix it!

This is an error log of when the game crashes because of Heap overload in the main menu (heapA).

The issue I'm having with freezing upon entering the final boss room doesn't produce an error or crash, it simply just keeps loading and not responding and I have to exit manually (I've let it load for as long as 10 minutes, with nothing ever happening). So unfortunately I cannot provide you with a log regarding that issue.

What are your PC specs? You can use Hwinfo64/32 to get detailed info. Mainly i need:
CPU
GPU and VRAM
System RAM

Since I've swapped to 1.0.3.1, I've noticed that either a) enemies now track your position during the black screen after you fall into spikes, rather than when you fade back in from black after respawning or b) the i-frames you get after falling into spikes has been significantly reduced.

This problem is especially evident in the trials at the Colosseum and one of the rooms leading up to Quick Slash in the bottom right of Kingdom's Edge with the big jumping bug. I'm consistently taking unfair damage as a result, and in some cases I'm even taking damage from enemies before the screen has faded back from black with Stalwart Shell equipped. I've had a couple of deathes in this patch because there's not even enough time to quit to menu after falling into spikes before you take another hit from an enemy.
