How can I force more notches so I can use more charms?
I really hate how few of the charms you can wear at once, given how basic many of them are. I wish you started with double amount and every additional one would be double as well, and even that would be conservative. Is there any way to force more notches?? I imagine trying to find the value in cheatengine would be super difficult. Is there a mod or a trainer that can do this for the current version? I really, REALLY need this.

Well... you can overcharm yourself by constantly trying equipping the charm until it finally equips. But as a warning to that, there are some side effects.

I have 9 notches and something tells me I'm never gonna have the 20 I would be happy with. I can't bring myself to use anything else than the single notch ones, so I'm super pi***d off that I never get to use most of the charms for being too expensive to enable. I like the need to switch around the charms for each need but it's way too constrictive, considering I've only unlocked around half the charms so far.

Yea the double damage would be good if I got double the notches but only 1?? Hell no.

But there are amazing multi notch charms to try. There's literally no reason not to give them a try when you're not in the midst of a boss fight. Or saving your geo for something important. I use to run a lot of the single notch charms for a while. Then I got Weaversong and couldn't put it down. Having minions help me fight is my main crutch. Then I got Quick Slash and and Unbreakable Strength, so I had to leave Weaversong behind so I could keep Grubsong.

Mix and match, you may find a combo better than what you're currently using. And even if you don't, you can always go back to your previous charm set.

Listen you can use a mod to reduce the cost of all charms. It's easy enough to find so I will not provide url. But there is a reason the devs have stuck with 11 notches and the default charm costs. It's all about balance and millions of players have played it that way. You see, specific charm combinations allow for a specific type of gameplay and finding that perfect combo for a particular boss or instance is a part of the game.

Things like wayward compass, gathering swarm, steady body, sprintmaster, soul catcher, dashmaster and quick focus should be permanent. Once you get used to them it's impossible to play without. I like the mechanics, in fact I praise it, but the amount of basics that should be excluded to use the expensive charms is just way too much.

You think it's easy to find mods for the latest version? Or does the version not matter?

I wouldn't consider gathering swarm and sprintmaster to be basics. Gathering swarm is only useful until you don't need geo anymore. And there's more than enough geo tossed around to buy nearly all the charms without worrying about the few that fall on spikes and whatnot. Grub father drops a lot. And I wouldn't consider it useful for late game geo sinks unless you intend to use it in combination with fragile/unbreakable greed. As for sprintmaster, it doesn't really seem as fast as I would have hoped to warrant equipping it.

Honestly, the system is good how it already is. It makes you think about what charms you are going to use, and it makes you make choices on what charms you are going to use. You have to think about what charms are going to be the most useful for each situation, and make sacrifices in your build. The game would be too easy if you could have a ton of charm notches, as they are what makes your knight stronger.

I used an online save editor https://bloodorca.github.io/hollow to reduce the cost of every charm to one notch.

lmao. Then why bother playing if you're just going to set it to instant easy mode?

The charm system is perfectly balanced so you have to think about what you use and what you dont. If you reduce the cost of all charms to one you break that system and with it the game itself. Want more charms? Overcharm yourself and deal with the consequences or just play normally like everyone else.

i didnt even know you could do that.
