Dream Nail Essence question
I know that some of the Dream bosses you can outright skip if you use the Dream Nail on them. Can this causes future issues like trying to gather enough essence for later or are the bosses gone for good? Trying to get 2400 essence for an achieve and idk if I've screwed myself over because of some of these mistakes. :rickweeks:

Oh! I know what you're talking about. Those aren't dream bosses. They're normal run-of-the-mill ghosts. You just killed them by using the dream nail on them. Dream bosses are easy to tell apart from ghosts. To first access the dream boss, you need to beat the normal boss version of them. And not all bosses have dream variants. Only False Knight, Broken Vessel, Dung Defender, Soul Master, and Zote have dream variants. Their corpse will sparkle after you beat them and if you use the dream nail on them, you'll begin their dream version boss fight.

Obviously you can technically 'skip' them by simply choosing to not fight them at all, but the option never disappears throughout the entire game. They're always available to fight if you ever change your mind. The corpse is permanently there until you finally beat them. And two of the bosses will be permanently available to fight even after you beat them (though they won't offer any more essence after the first win).

Edit: Lol, Darc beat me to it. Dang. I'm way too verbose, haha.

I'm not sure I understand quite what you're saying. If you use the dream nail on any of the dream bosses, it should start the boss fight rather than skip it. That said, there's an infinite amount of essence you can farm in this game, albeit very slowly. But in addtion, if you complete all of the dream content in the game (warrior graves, dream bosses, dream trees), you should have around 3000 essence total, so ultimately you'll have more than you need.

Again, I need some clarification on what you did to 'skip' the dream boss, since the dream boss isn't mandatory to begin with and you can come back at any point in the game to challenge them.

You can't skip them? I've ran into plenty of Dream bosses that offered a fight, but rather I just used the nail on them and they vanished completely.

Ah, those are not actually bosses. Any of the Dream Warriors will start the fight if you hit them with the Dream Nail.

Oh then that's a relief! Thanks for the clarification.

The ones I believe Fox was seeing as bosses are the Warrior Graves (Xero, Marmu, etc), which I would personally consider minibosses, but I can see where they're coming from. The ones that fight you will always give you a prompt first if you talk to them (and attack immediately if you dream nail them).
