Is there a way to move my save files to different slots?

For some reason I have my main save game in 4th slot and all the others empty.
Can I change 4th slot to 1st slot? How?

I know the save files are under C:\users\nickname\appdata\locallow\TeamCherry\Hollow Knight

I have changed the save files from userXX.dat to user1.dat, etc but everytime I enter the game, steam will change again the file to user4.dat...

When I renamed all user4 files to user1 files, everything works (even with Steam Cloud active). I'm not sure why it doesn't work in your situation.

First of all, always make a back up of your save files.

When I wanted to duplicate my save game, I started a new game in the slot I wanted and saved in the first bench in Dirthmouth. Then, went to the folder you mentioned, and copied the names from the save files of the new slot to the files I wanted to replace them with. And it worked.

Try to start a new game in the 1º slot (without deleting the 4º and doing a back up first) and then change the names.
