can't fight grimmkin nightmare

so I'm 105% way through the game and havent touched godmaster yet, I wanted to finish up grimm troupe but I've only fought the first two grimmkins and it sends me straight to the boss, I'm worried that if i kill grimm then the whole dlc will go away and I'll forever have nightmare locked. I've searched the web for hours but the only mention of this is in youtube comment sections with a reply of 'idk' so has anyone got some info?

Don't worry. You have to beat regular Grimm first, and THEN you can continue with the DLC and fight Nightmare King Grimm (or not, depending on which ending you want). Either way, you have to fight Grimm once before doing anything else.

Defeating Troupe Leader Grimm will not end the Grimm Troupe. The two options to end it will come after it. That is all you need to know for now. Keep playing!
