Charms We Don't Use
Hey, I thought that I'd ask you guys what are some of the commonly used charms that you just don't ever find yourself using?

In my case, I never use Quick Focus.

How about the rest of you?

Soul eater doesn't even really beat quick slash's soul recovered per second, per notch. And quick slash will not only be increasing your soul per second, but also DPS etc. It's only really worth overcharming with, which in turn makes soul catcher completely bad since they have the same notch cost this way. The only advantage is that you get soul eater early.
I'm not going to hide my love for Quick Slash, which I feel is hands-down the best charm in the game, but Soul Eater definitely has its place. You'll mostly be using spells against enemies where using the nail is risky, and Quick Slash only increases soul gained if it actually allows you to get extra hits in. If using the nail is risky, you're more likely to want to move in, slash once and move out again; the second slash would be too risky even with Quick Slash. A good example here is (Radiant) Markoth, who I only really got a handle on when I stopped trying to include Quick Slash in my build (removing Soul Eater isn't an option there since you won't have enough soul before he starts his second phase otherwise, unless you skipped some nail upgrades).

Then there is the Absolute Radiance, where if you want to maximize your damage output, you'll probably be bringing both Quick Slash and Soul Eater.

Soul Catcher is pretty useless, of course, but it's also an early-game charm.

Soul eater
You mean catcher? Soul eater is at least a smidgeon better than quick slash for collection per-notch if you're filling the main vessel, but reserve vessels are worse for some reason. Soul catcher is worse than both per-notch though, all around.

And if you're overcharming with eater, a reduced notch cost wouldn't make a difference.

It's really hard to balance things out just via changing notch cost, especially with low-cost charms, because you have to round yourself to the nearest notch. But then if you try and change the effect, you have to round yourself to the nearest mask with defensive charms, so it gets equally hard to fix things on that end. I don't think there's a good way to balance them.

I think people took my point to be that souleater was bad: my point was just to show how borderline it is, and in turn that catcher is pretty trash.
