This link shows a tutorial on installing the radiance client that you are trying to use. By the looks, it should be safe. Firewalls do sometimes flag harmless files because they are using a feature that could be harmful if intended, however nobody has reported any negative effects of it. if you open nexus, the modloader is featured on there, and is also featured on the official hollow knight discord in their modding section too.
You Could run the mod just to see how it works, but just to play it safe i don't think you should go with it. Again in my opinion, HK Doesn't seem like a game where mods could be added, but just play it safe for now.
there are tonnes of videos on youtube from various youtubers that feature excellent mods. there are custom bossfights, rebalances, randomisers, and there's even this cool mod called Lightbringer that changes your normal attack to ranged and has custom charms and more. they are trustworthy, and all of them are featured in the modloader above. i recommend making a backup of your main saves atleast, incase something does go wrong.
But If I uninstall the game with mods, will it get rid of the mods and be original - without mods?
Im not completely sure since i haven't tried it yet, but yes that's how it should work. You can also "verify the game cache" which does the same thing. You could also run the game with all mods disabled, if it all works out.
It may or maynot also wipe your saves clean aswell, so you should make a backup before installing. They should be in the file explorer location below as UserX.dat files (the X being the save file number). Just copy those and put them in a folder on your desktop
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight
1- Delete the mod, and download it all over again
2- disable, turn off game, turn back on and then re-enable
3- download the mod again without deleting it first, and have them replace all of your current HK mod files.
If you get someone else who knows what they are doing follow their advice, but the above could probably fix it so long as the original files are good and the problem comes from something else... Hope my inexpirenced advice helps...
