Whats better to better to use for HK keyboard or controller

Both work well, though you may want to re-map the key bindings if you play with keyboard. Honestly you should just use whichever playstyle you're more comfortable with from other games, as neither really gives much of an advantage over the other.

I only tried keyboard but I'd recommend controller first. I had quite a few problems, and a lot of times it's difficult to pinpoint what exactly the problem is - is it latency, commands not registering (I even read that space is a bad bind for jumping because it's slow to respond, go figure), or if I didnt press right... Some of it went away after some graph tinkering, but I dont think m+k is implemented well.

I've been using keyboard. The only rebinding I did was change the focus key from A to Left Shift. Sliding them all right one key might be better though if you use magic more frequently than I do.

Z: Focus
X: Jump
C: Attack
V: Dash
F: Fly
D: Dream Nail

You can also search the board; this topic has been discussed into the ground many times.
Personally, I own a controller (a DualShock 4) which I like a lot for playing Rocket League, but I get cramped hands and a headache just thinking about using it for this game. Keyboard all the way for me. Speedrunners seem to agree; keyboard is the way to go for this game. (though it is apparently playable with a controller)

Controller works pefect for me, and you can remap the buttons too. (probably want to set the nail attack to the left or right shoulder button/trigger so it doesn't feel weird when you holding the attack to charge a Nail Art and use the jump button simultaneously. (did a similar thing with the Cuphead controller bindings)
I guess keyboard is fine too if you find your perfect layout but I dont know how your jumps are gonna be as precise as in using the controller...

I played through the entire game with keyboard and experienced none of these problems. Somethings wrong with your keyboard.

Doubt it's the keyboard, since no other game gave me these problems. And other have had them too. Could be the game bugging out for whatever reason though

Personally, as a player of both at times, controller feels much more forgiving and feels better for the game to me

Ok yea I think controller is best for me tbh just seems easier over keyboard

And accidental up/down attacks because the stick is slightly angled(the worst part of cardinal movement/aim with a stick imo)

Or not being able to instantly switch between moving left and right because you first have to physically move the stick from one side to the other.
