I can do the ciclone slash without pressing the up key
Is there a difference between pressing the up key and not pressing ?

Oh yeah and minor tip for the cyclone (I've seen some people who doesn't know it since its not said in the game), you can spin longer if you keep pressing the attack button while you're doing it.

I'd say it's pretty obvious that's where the inspiration for the Cyclone Slash came from. With the Great Slash, I wouldn't be surprised if TC played a lot of Mega Man Zero either. It's all good; originality is all about how you put the pieces together and what extra stuff of your own you add.
