Low-res mode and ini tweaks?
Wanted to get me a nice budget laptop for mostly streaming and travel but also low requirement games when away from home. Hollow Knight seems to hover about 25 fps with spikes without doing much more than movement at times, so I was wondering if there are any low res modes I can force or any bells and whistles I can turn off via an ini file?

I've tried forcing dx9 and it didn't make a difference as best I could tell. This is a very simple laptop, Celeron N4100 and Intel UHD 600 graphics with Win 10, intentionally low spec because I wanted a good price so games no more intensive than the likes of Dungeons of Dredmoor and Binding of Isaac and Salt & Sanctuary to name a few, so I'm hoping I can stabilize 30 FPS. Thanks!

The simplest would be to lower the resolution; which I believe you can do through the launch options you access by right clicking the game's entry in your library and selecting properties.

This comment might be useful to you if you decide to go the lower resolution route :

Forcing a lower res worked perfectly, forgot about that. I can play a comfortable and consistent 35ish FPS now without much sacrificed screen space. Thank ye!
