The bosses in this game don't necessarily have patterns per se, but they do have a limited number of moves that are usually well telegraphed. Just pay attention to the startup of each move.

i realized some of her positions but as soon as i see it coming she has attacked or i panicked. i just need to keep at it.

Good rule of thumb for hornet is when she's in the air you wanna be on the ground and vice versa

Pay attention to her shouts. Edino is when she's throwing her needle. Hekale means a charge is coming, and....

Just kidding. Hornet does take a few tries. One useful skill that might be of help is to pogo off her needle when she's throwing it (if you mistimed your jump). You can also pogo off her head when she's on the ground.

And yeah, not panicking helps.

Not a lot of things to say, really. She's pretty self-explanatory and when you first meet her you don't have a lot of options (the game opens up afterward). She's an infamously difficult one too, so you're not alone. I'd say stay calm and be on the defensive and you're good. Her attacks are manageable if you remember them and have a working system in dealing with each attack. When she's knocked over, use the opportunity to heal rather than attack. I'd avoid using spells unless it's full. There are a few attacks that are basically free healing opportunity if you are used to them, so make sure you do that. That's all I got really.

thats good to know. i keep thinking about using my energy to heal instead of attack but i have been to affraid to take the time to do it. i kept thinking if i just went and attacked her more she would die quicker but now i can take a breath and be more patient knowing that it works for other people.

friendly advice - try not to cheese bosses too hard should you stumble over cheese tactics.
The game ramps up in difficulty about 2 / 3 areas from where you are right now and it tries to teach you to react to indicators acordingly. Most of the games bosses are quite easy, but especially towards the endgame they will kick your teeth in even if you "learned" against the others. (Final boss if you go for the "true" ending, the Grim Troupe final boss (which is skipable ! - decide yourself if it's worth it and a couple of the dream bosses come to mind.. )

Against some of them not even cheesing will help you so you need to get some familiarity with the games mechanics. It may feel daunting, but coming from someone who has very little experience with platformers and even less with 2d fighting games ... it is very managable. Don't give up. You won't even know what was "difficult" about certain things during your second playthrough :)
