You can transfer your pc save file of hollow knight in your switch ! And retain all achievements !
Instructions
Enter the game on your Switch and create a new game. Exit the game after you are able to save.

Extract the save file with either Checkpoint or a save manager of your selection. (Saves should be saved as user1.dat or any number depending on the slot.)

Go to https://bloodorca.github.io/hollow/ on your PC and insert your PC save file into the browser based editor.

Copy all of the information about your save simply with CTRL + C (duh)

Insert your MicroSD card into your PC and locate your Hollow Knight save file.

Open it with Notepad++ or any text editor of your liking and simply paste all the information of your PC save into the Switch one.

Insert your MicroSD card back and head into the Checkpoint save manager.

Restore the save and see the results. Everything should be there.

Note : You can't copy the info from the PC save directly because it's encrypted. Hence why you need to use the browser based editor.

That's pretty neat. Really wonder why the saves would be encrypted with a fixed key though... that seems a bit silly.

If you can access your save from the Switch (in text form) then you are able to convert it to PC .dat with bloodorca's save file editor. I am doing this all the time (converting .txt to .dat and vice versa) with my HK Save Completion Analyzer.

The trickiest part is probably to get access to your Switch save file.

To them, possibly is useless as they don't have a need for it at the current time. But he did acknowledge it does have merit to it's utility.

It's too soon to assume they are, "being an ass." But I do understand where your coming from.

But, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and i just wanted to let him know, that kinda attitude will get him what he exactly wants, less and less and less game mods, hacks, .. pff.. he's probably a disgruntled UBISOFT employee that's working on DRM to stop game hacks.. hahah maybe they're using gas lighting and social engineering to try and stop us all, since their anti cheats don't work.

They have 39.5 hrs on record...

Would this work to transfer a save from switch to PC as well? Can that github website encrypt the save file for PC if that's even necessary?
