i call this the destroyer of bosses build, this build make every fight in the game easier
Shaman Stone, Spell Twister, Soul Catcher, Quick Slash, Grubsong.
If you don't feel confident about being able to kill the boss without also putting yourself in danger with this build you can switch out Quick Slash for Quick Focus.
My Nail Build:
Strength, Quick Slash, Mark of Pride. Your last two notches can go to one of the following: Sharp Shadow, Stalwart Shell, Longnail. This one really depends on preference.
If you don't feel confident about being able to kill the boss without also putting yourself in danger with this build you can switch out Mark of Pride for Quick Focus and use Longnail in its place.
I generally roll Quick Focus, Longnail, Strength and Quick Slash for a nice mix between high DPS melee and the ability to heal quickly. I know a lot of the pros like to run builds like Shaman Stone, Soul Catcher, Quick Slash and Strength in order to maximize DPS for both their spell and nail attacks whilst also ensuring their soul gain is as efficient as possible.
That last one is very interesting, I kinda wanna try it out now...and by Pro's u mean speed runners? Also..i really have stopped using MarkOfP since it seems like a waste of notches, I rather have longnail if anything but I've gotten comfortible to the range of the regular nail so its not a big deal to have low range
You should probably replace soul eater with quick slash. You should almost always do that. It lets you attack 54% faster, which means you're collecting soul 54% faster; that's like going from 11 to 16.94 sould in the main vessel, and 6 to 9.24 in the reserve vessels. In the reserve vessels, soul eater actually adds LESS than that, despite costing more, and in the main vessel it only increases the soul gained per hit by 8, which is 2 per notch, identical to quick slash's effect per slot if you just round the 16.94 average up to 17. Plus quick slash doubles as 54% more nail DPS on average which is kind of a big deal since that also makes it usually better than fragile strength.
Plus, while soul catcher an eater stack with eachother flatly, the speed increase from quick slash will instead multiply their effects, so if you're overcharming with soul eater quick slash will absolutely blow soul catcher out of the water. If you've already got the 19 from soul eater, increasing that rate by 54% is like adding another 9 points, more than soul eater gave originally. It's really absurd that quick attack used to be only two slots; it's worth at least six compared to soul eater and strength.
I almost always use magic and nail arts but simple slashes because it's really fun and spectacular.
Nail focused: Unbreakable Strength, Longnail, Quick Slash, Quick Focus
or
Unbreakable Strength, Mark of Pride, Quick Focus, Grubsong, Random filler
Spell focused: Shaman Stone, Spell Twister, Quick Slash, Grimmechild, Grubsong
I mean, speed is great and all for a lot of situations, however, the point of the build was to minimize the amount of time you had with encounters, more of a hit and run and timing for opportunities with low risk. Personally, I feel like when I have charms like quick slash, I often try to take advantage and get extra hits when sometimes, there isn't even enough of an opening to take advantage of the speed, so it's better to retreat and attack and look for single or double hit openings..with quick slash, it's hard for me to find the right 3 strike or 2(instead of 1) situation that doesn't hurt me. But i will keep it in mind, definatelly with other builds, this one felt more appropiate for the colloseum in my opinion
I'm pretty confident in my skill with the nail/nail arts but i rarely use spells, the rest of the charms are for using the least amount of soul when focusing while being able to use "fast unn sinergy" and healing 2 masks at a time. I use nail arts pretty much always and barely using normal atacks (with bosses, for normal enemies i use nail arts only when the enemy has a considerable amount of health), Nailmaster's glory makes whings much faster and dynamic (the only downside is that i got too used to the speed with the charm and now the normal charge speed feel unnatural lol)
- Quick Focus
- Nailmaster's Glory
- Shaman Stone
- Soul Eater
Allows for Nail Arts as a primary attack, strong spells with big hitboxes, fast healing, and more speedy soul acquisition. (I used this build for much of the game.)
For a pure spell build:
- Shaman Stone
- Spell Twister
- Soul Catcher
- Soul Eater
Spell cost is reduced to 1/4 of the vessel, and a single nail strike with this build fills (I think) 24% of the vessel. So almost a 1:1 ratio for casting.
