Guide to the Godmaster DLC
This is my guide for the Godmaster DLC. Tons of spoilers ahead so read at your own risk. Turn back while you still can! Now before i start i need to say that i play this on the switch and not on steam but that shouldnt make a difference, im just putting it out there.

How to start the godmaster dlc:

We've all seen the trailer where you unlock that weird coffin thing and some huge bug with a gold mask comes out. If you noticed the coffin required some simple key to unlock. When i first loaded up godmaster my first thought was to go to sly to get a key but no. You have to go to the colosseum. Once there go to the room where you can observe infection (blood) splatters and hear cheering and see part of the crowd. the very right of this room has a breakable wall that leads to a secret area. Follow the path this takes you down and you will find a strange bug that looks like one of the gladiators. Defeat him/her/it and the simple key will be dropped. Now you can unlock the godmaster dlc. The next step is to go to the royal waterways and fine the junk pit. This can be tricky because the junk pit is behind a breakable wall above flukemarms room. If you go to the room just outside flukemarms room, and then go up a little you should be able to find it right next to a bellfly, so look out for them. Next you can continue through to the junk pit (good luck with the flukemungas!) and find the coffin. Use the key and an unconsious godseeker falls out. Dream nail them to go to the godhome. Here you can find a few things... 1. three doors called pantheons. I will explain these later. 2. a weird looking thing on top of a locked room with four notches on it. This will also be explained. 3. two locked rooms, one appearing to be a pantheon behind a gate and the other a room with blue inside which you can see through a hole. 4. a door leading to the hall of gods. Now you can start playing the gods and glo- i mean godmaster update.

Hall of gods:

This is a hall with statues of all the bosses you have fought. This is meant to be a practice room for the pantheons or just for fun. When you inspect a statue you can do the boss fight on attuned or ascended difficulty. Attuned is the normal fight, ascended is harder with more health, damage, and for some bosses a changed arena. Some boss statues have levers that can be hit to change to alternate forms of a boss or a dream nail symbol that can be dream nailed to do dream variants. If you beat a boss on ascended difficulty you unlock radiant difficulty where the boss one shots you and has more health plus the arena change from ascended. If you go to the far top right where there is a gate, go to the roof, and crystal dash, and attack the roof you can find a secret room where you can partake in the eternal ordeal. There are also two gates, one leads you to the "true TRUE final boss" and the other to a secret you can unlock through beating the bosses on attuned, ascended, and radiant difficulties.

Pantheons:

There are three pantheons accessable from the start. The pantheon of the master, pantheon of the artist, and pantheon of the sage. When you beat all three (which include an assortment of previous bosses and a few new ones) you can unlock the pantheon of the knight, where you can fight some extra hard bosses. Defeat that too and you can go to the fifth pantheon, the pantheon of hallownest. This pantheon is brutal and includes every boss, including nightmare king grimm, radiance, and the extra hard new one in the pantheon of the knight. The pantheon of hallownest also has the "true TRUE final boss" and two new endings that may or may not be setups for hornet DLC. These pantheons require lots of practice, tries, and of course skill. I will have another guide on the pantheons themselves and will have a link at the end of this to that guide.

Bindings:

bindings bindings bindings... these are brutal. You may have noticed them and experimented already, and if you did you must have had a nasty shock when entering the first boss of the chosen pantheon. These make your experience much harder, but unlock a special reward if you get them all (not including the hallownest ones). The first binding is the nail binding. This reduces your nail damage to 65% of its total so its recommended you have the pure nail for this one. This binding does NOT give you the old nail. The soul binding brings you down to one third of a soul meter, meaning you can only carry enough soul at a time for ONE heal, ONE spell, ONE anything, so be careful. No more healing at the end of bosses with this. The next binding is the shell binding. This restricts you to four masks of health so be extra careful. The last binding is the charm binding. This binding takes off all your charms (including void heart... somehow...) so no more god setups.

That one secret blue room you're curious about:

The blue room. Now if you notice the blue room has some weird lookin' notches above it. These symbolize your bindings. If you do enough bindings to get to the big notch the door opens up to a lifeblood room. Dream nail the weird thingy in the center and BOOM every time you get to a resting area in the pantheons you can get two free lifeblood masks. Make sure to sit on the bench BEFORE you get the lifeblood! If you do one more pantheon with all bindings you can get three masks and if you beat all four pantheons (so not the hallownest one lol) you can get FOUR lifeblood masks per rest stop. This is VERY useful, practically mandatory, for the pantheon of hallownest. Heres a little trick: You dont have to do all bindinga at once. for the first pantheon i only did two bindings, then did the other two. Break it up so its not so hard. This is time consuming but WORTH IT.

Rest stops:

Use these to rest up, restore soul, change charms, get lifeblood, or turn off your game and never turn it on again because you are scared that once you leave you will get beat up and have to restart.

Land of storms:

Secret area found after completing EVERY PANTHEON (even hallownest) with ALL BINDINGS. A crack will open up in the left wall in the area above the godhome, unlocked when striking the weird thing on top of the knight pantheon after doing it along with the others. Go into the crack and you will enter a dark, windy place with lightning in the background. If you follow a simple path with no enemies you can get a secret journal entry. Once you do this you get transported back outside and will not be able to enter again.

The area above godhome i dont have a name for:

Unlocked after doing the first four pantheons. This simply leads you up to the pantheon of hallownest. It also has a hot spring, a secret bench, and access to the land of storms one requirements are met. Not much else here.

Thats all for my Godmaster update guide. I will post a guide for the pantheons and what to do for EACH boss in EACH pantheon in a little while. Thanks for reading! :3

Thank you. I tried searching the web to find out what this binding did precisely and no site I could find gave the answer. Some sites claimed it put you back to the Old Nail, but I already noticed bosses went down much too quickly for that to be true.

That's not how the Nail Binding works. It locks the dmg of your normal Nail swing to 9(the Bound Nail is the equivilant to the Sharpened Nail). Even attempting to increase your Nail dmg with debug mode will not negate the effect.
However, it ONLY affects your normal Nail swing. Nail Arts remain unaffected.

Also, the Shell Binding does NOT limit your health to 4. It reduces your health based on how many mask shards you have completed(up to 5). So Fragile/Unbreakable Heart still works.

The Soul Binding limits you to 33 Soul(normally you have 99 Soul, and between 33 to 99 reserve Soul if you have completed Soul Vessels). This is enough for a single Cast or Focus, but you can save some Soul if you use Spell Twister to reduce the cost of Casting spells to about 22 Soul(Focus will still take 33 Soul though)

The Charm Binding just unequips all of your charms and doesn't let you reequip them while its active. It automatically reequips your previous set of charms after you exit the Pantheon. This is arguably the hardest Binding to complete.

I thought it was 13? That’s the consensus I’ve seen and people even did math and it checked out to be 13

I've looked at it in the debug interface; its 9.

Good to know. Thanks guys!

...I don't think I'm going to do GPZ with 4 bindings if regular swings do a pitiful 9 damage...

Based on footage of someone who completed PoH on all bindings the trick is to use more of your nail arts because they don't get the damage hit.

actually for some reason i get all my charms unequipped even after the binding... im on switch tho so may be an exclusive bug

Correct. The damage limitation of the Bound Nail only applies to normal Nail swings, not Nail Arts.
I assume this also applies to other damage sources that scale with Nail level(ie; Thorns of Agony, Dreamshield, Sharp Shadow, etc), though haven't actually verified it.
I've been mostly been using either spell builds or summoner builds for the Nail Binding.

I always to my bindings in groups. always to shell by its self. Nail and soul, and then charms

There's a guide system on the community hub. You can use that to post guides.

Forum posts are likely to get unnoticed after a time

Note that if it's true the nail binding sets the base damage to 9, the zotelings in the GPZ fight have a different amount of HP than the dream version of the boss, since they die in two hits, and a single hit with Fragile/Unbreakable Strength equipped. And yes, the Strength charms still up the damage of the nail even when it's bound.

I'm actually edging towards believing the 13 damage thing here over the 9 damage. Checking the code to predict what's going on is fun and all, but if something different is happening in-game, then either the code is bugged or at least you're reading it wrong.

man, this should be in Guide, not in Discussion....
Have you not considerate put there?
