However, it ONLY affects your normal Nail swing. Nail Arts remain unaffected.
Also, the Shell Binding does NOT limit your health to 4. It reduces your health based on how many mask shards you have completed(up to 5). So Fragile/Unbreakable Heart still works.
The Soul Binding limits you to 33 Soul(normally you have 99 Soul, and between 33 to 99 reserve Soul if you have completed Soul Vessels). This is enough for a single Cast or Focus, but you can save some Soul if you use Spell Twister to reduce the cost of Casting spells to about 22 Soul(Focus will still take 33 Soul though)
The Charm Binding just unequips all of your charms and doesn't let you reequip them while its active. It automatically reequips your previous set of charms after you exit the Pantheon. This is arguably the hardest Binding to complete.
...I don't think I'm going to do GPZ with 4 bindings if regular swings do a pitiful 9 damage...
Based on footage of someone who completed PoH on all bindings the trick is to use more of your nail arts because they don't get the damage hit.
I assume this also applies to other damage sources that scale with Nail level(ie; Thorns of Agony, Dreamshield, Sharp Shadow, etc), though haven't actually verified it.
I've been mostly been using either spell builds or summoner builds for the Nail Binding.

I'm actually edging towards believing the 13 damage thing here over the 9 damage. Checking the code to predict what's going on is fun and all, but if something different is happening in-game, then either the code is bugged or at least you're reading it wrong.
Have you not considerate put there?
