Grey Prince Zote Gold Statue Bug

Recent updates have lowered the amount of Prince Zotes that need to be defeated to light the candles around the Zote Statue and turn it gold. Iv'e recently got a pc that can actually smoothly run this game so I was able to beat him after all 5 candles were lighted, but nothing happened, all the candles were still lit. I beat him again, still nothing...

Is this a bug? Or am I just doing something wrong?

candles not accurate but did end up beating him enough to where it eventually turned gold

Unless they updated it again, I thought they just reduced the number of candles to get to the resolution of the Bretta/Zote part of it, but left the golden statue at 10.

I was able to get the Bretta resolution before the update and before I filled in the candles so you could be right, but I think me getting the resolution before the update might of broke it

Sorry, I think I phrased that a bit wrong, I meant that they reduced the number of candles to be all filled at the point where Bretta leaves, not that they changed how many wins it takes. So if there were 10 candles before, Bretta left at 5 and the statue turned gold at 10; in the update I believe they left the triggers at the same number of battles, but just reduced the candles to be all lit when Bretta leaves and left the Statue as an extra secret for the persistent.
