ETA I just looked and the Cornifer bench is closer, you don't have to use the Stag bench. On the map it's directly below the word Soul but a fair bit down.
From the Stag bench go left and drop down, go all the way to the bottom of the room with the floating platforms and go right, you'll have to jump to break the wall.
Also, am I underleveled for the Soul Master ? I just cannot land hits, he moves too fast. If I try and go near him to hit he damages me. All I can do is avoid all his attacks, but that doesn't really kill him so...
If these guys bother you so much on the way to him it might be a good idea to come back after. Anyway this is not such a difficult location and boss. Technically, you can go through it right now.
And if you need it, a little tactics. When the Souls Master flies with 4 spheres, you can jump over the sphere and heal for 1-2 HP if you stand in the middle of the arena.
He fixes the cable?
Also, am I underleveled for the Soul Master ?
There's really no such thing. At best it's about how many masks of damage you can take. Even the Nail upgrades will make the fight a little shorter but not short enough where you won't have to dodge things. Only thing to level up for him is your skill at recognizing his patterns.
at first he seemed really hard then after a few goes he became really easy
Applies to many bosses. They're fast and you have no clue what to do and get slaughtered at first and then you start to figure them out and the fight slows down for you. Frankly, I didn't even find Soul Tyrant that hard.

Good idea. Works for Soul Tyrant too...having an easy time to heal is part of why he's easier than other Dream fights.

That was what I was talking about. I was wondering if I was doing that boss before having enough experience with the game to contend with him ? I havn't done Mantis Lords yet so I was wondering if fighting them provides good dodging training for the Soul Master.
The major enemies don't respawn if you don't sit on a bench. If you lost too much HP on the way to the Soul Sanctum, you can come back a bit and kill lesser enemies to regain Soul and recover some HP.
It is tedious, but it may help you surviving a bit more.
Also, if you have a certain spell Howling Wraits or Abyss Shriek , you can boost the damage you cause to the boss. If you think you are underleveled, you can go around collecting more stuff to make the fight easier.
You can fight the Mantis Lords right after you get the mantis claw, you just need to hit a switch to open the floor.
It is not really a sequence breaker. Actually you can get the Dream Nail as soon as you rescue Sly. You just need to grind some Geo to buy the Lumafly lantern early. I think that you are "supposed" to visit the Seer a bit later in the game, but there is nothing wrong reaching him sooner. Actually the early Dream Nail makes so many thing easier, since you can grind Soul with it.
