Are the pantheons worth completing?
Hollow Knight is one of my favourite games of all time, and I beat it originally without much issue at all (except for with NKG). Now I've beat the first two pantheons with not much of an issue, and I had a bit of difficulty with pantheon 3, but I'm on pantheon 4 and just can't seem to kill the pure vessell. None of the other bossess in pantheon 4 are much of an issue.

So long story short, I'm finding it more frustrating than fun, and I hear it gets even worse. Is the rest of the content worth perservering through for, or should I call it quits? Also to my knowledge not much was added aside from the pantheons, but if there are any new locations, sidequests, etc. that I can do instead I would love to hear.

well, if you beat the fourth pantheon you get a new challenge, and if you beat THAT (which is pretty hard) you basically get a new ending, so i'd say it's worth it

It's really up to you.

I personally found completing them very satisfying, as it's the hardest thing the game has thrown at us. It does get tedious though, but I thought it was worth it.

But ya know, you can just watch a youtube video on the rewards and it won't change that much. Just feels better to 'earn' it.

Completed pantheon 5 today and it was one of the most satisfying experiences I've ever had in gaming but pantheon 5 certainly was getting very grating and frustrating. I think there definitely needs to be some improvement here. But yeah, I'd say they are. It's up to you though
I'd say at least try to beat the 4 main Pantheons, or the first 3 at the very least.
The 5th one is basically just for players of godlike skill, or masochists.

Agree with Null; Pantheon 5 can take an hour; Pantheoon's 4 and below, 15-20 mins tops. I'd reccommend at least doing the first 4. They're a manageable challenge. Besides, if you can't complete the first 4, there's little hope for the 5th.

I agree with Null as well, I don't think Pantheon 5 is intended for the average player. I did the first two without too much trouble, the third took me quite a while but I figured it out, and I'm stuck on PV on four as well. I always get there with full hp, but for the love of god that 3hit attack is impossible, my dodges are so inconsistent I don't know how to counter it.

EDIT: I just beat it with a spell build, I had just one mask left, jesus ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ christ, my heart is pounding right now.

Not really. Pantheon 5 isn't fun. It's a shame, because it has some of the game's best bosses at the end of it, but there's just too many trash-tier bosses in the way. I'm assuming you play games to have fun and be challenged - Pantheon 5 has 30 minutes of no-challenge, no-fun padding at the start of it.
I mean all you truly get by beating them all is a super secret ending where the knight becomes super duper omega void shadow and beats the ♥♥♥♥ out of the radience, then he eats the godseeker and then the godseeker in the trash pit explodes into darkness

so unless you feel like seeing a new ending cutscene you dont gotta

Well, i'm only in it for the 112%. Once I beat Pantheon 4 (SCREW YOU PURE VESSEL) I think i'll most likely be done with Godmaster. Unless we get some changes to the 5th pantheon, there is nealy no chance of me doing it.

No they lock you out of the special Versions of the radiance and hollow boi until you do the final pantheon or can you do it as soon as you fight one of them?

Oh yeah, Ab Rad is locked until you make it to the end of Pantheon 5. Crap.

Also, Sisters of Battle and Winged Nosk are both in the 5th Pantheon, though you can still fight them in Godseeker mode regardless.

The AR luckily only has to be seen, not beaten, to get into the Hall of Gods.
Unfortunately, the last gauntlet leading up to her consists of Soul Tyrant(by far the easiest part of this gauntlet), Ascended Markoth, Grey Prince, Failed Champion, Nightmare King, and Pure Vessel(thankfully there's a bench inbetween NK and PV)... so good luck with that.

Even fighting her in the Hall of Gods, without that gauntlet preceding her, she's still insanely difficult. While the normal Radiance was slow and predictable, the AR is the opposite.

Wall of Light: AR no longer needs to be still to use it, so she can chain it into her other moves.
Lightball: AR can now summon upto 4 orbs, which are faster and have stronger homing.
Lance Volley: AR can now fire 2 vollies of lances from their body.
Wall of Blades: AR's blades are faster than normal.
Rain of Blades: AR's blades are faster than normal.
Light Burst: AR now fires its beams much quicker.
Searing Ray: The beam AR fires leading upto the last phase is much quicker and more precise.
Heaven's Fury: during the last phase, AR will alternate attacking and teleporting.

Platforming Phase: unlike the normal Radiance, the AR will not always teleport to the same plaforms, its entirely random.

Health: Both versions of the Radiance have 3000 HP, but in the normal Radiance fight, you only needed to deal 1700 total DMG to beat her. In the AR fight, you need to deal upwards of 2600 total DMG to beat her.

Well, hearing that Nightmare King has returned is enough for me to hang in the towell. That boi took me forever to beat my first time. It was insanely fun then, and probably one of my favourite bosses in all of gaming, but having to fight him in the middle of a gauntlet with many bosses before and after just doesn't sound fun. And that's coming from someone who (I think at least) is above average at the game.

at least get to the final waves of pantheon 5 once, by then you'd have seen all the new godseeker content (and you can proceed to fight them for fun in the hall of gods) except for one very, very annoying boss. I'd say that in of itself is worth going for.

Edit: or you could just take a look in godseeker mode, you're not forced to do the 4th and 5th pantheons by any means really.
