Rush all the jars and spam them to take out primal aspids before they can fire projectiles at you.
EZ win.
Shaman Stone will allow Shade Soul to one-shot all minor enemies (or at least both flying ones, I know for sure). Ideally, if you dash to one end of the arena and cast it across the room as the pots hit the ground, you can potentially wipe most or all of them out instantly. But keep in mind that you don't get soul from striking Collector, so you will need to attack enemies with your nail in some cases.
Honestly, I think this is one of the best strategies for this boss. You are almost fully protected while attacking.
Get close to a falling jar without getting into its splash range (it's not that big), then strike upward twice to instantly delete whatever comes out of it.
Spam shade soul toward enemies (+ collector, bonus!) for those you didn't have the time to clear.
You can easily heal 2-4 times when he is staggered if you position yourself right and have a little bit of luck.
I don't use nail art against him but it's not a bad idea.
animation starts, you will be able to move and attack him during it after the thorns have come out. I should mention I'm using the Windows version, 1.4.2.9 beta branch.
Steady body helped me A LOT, because when you attack the enemies your are not pushed back and you can land 2 hits much faster, without risking that primal aspids shoot at you. You basically always move forward and crush them. Then it is just a matter of reflexes.
If there are too many enemies, move towards one side of the screen and use shade soul to kill all of them.
Wait, THAT'S why heavy slash isn't working?!
Damniiiiiiiiit
Even without Nailmaster Glory, Great Slash (the one given by Sheo, not the Oro) works wonders, and as a no-speller I absolutely admire that charm.
