Final DLC Underwhelming

I'm not gonna this final DLC was a little underwhelming and just not very fun. It was only a boss rush that went right into a cutscene that was awesome, put to get there I feel could've been handled differently.

Well, judging by the new ending, the Hornet DLC is going to take place after the Kngiht's journey, so unless she has a Dream Nail or a time machine, we aren't going to be seeing the 5 Great Knights anytime soon. (especially since TC has stated that they aren't going to be exploring the Knights through dreams.)

TC said that adding the ability to glorify charms would be too much of a headache and that they didn't want to delay the game further after months of developement

Honestly, that cutscene is teaseing a Hornet paid DLC for those who want a newer adventure. More or less a sequel to Hollow Knight, but starring Hornet, but with the Knight as the main antagonist.

It kinda bothers me that there are endings for beating the bossrush. Like, all the other endings require going to the Temple of the Black Egg and defeating the Hollow Knight in some capacity. With this, however, you completely abandon the main quest, and go hang out in somebody's mind while you kill everything. It just feels really detached from the main game. In my opinion the endings should have been solely found in Godseeker mode, where it would make sense. But hey, maybe that's just me.
