Holy hell, Godmaster is too hard
Devs, for the love of the gods of Hallownest, we need a way to make our puny little Knight stronger. I assume glorifying charms was an attempt at giving us a way to get stronger specifically for Godmaster before they were cut from the DLC, and I'm here to say we desperately need them back because even with a maxed out Knight, this stuff is ball-bustingly hard. Some of this stuff is possibly the hardest content I've ever seen in gaming, especially the Pantheon of Hallownest and all of the limiters you are supposed to put on The Knight in each pantheon in order to light up the room medals and reach some sort of secret story stuff (I heard on the web, but not going to spoil myself).

It's hard, it's bloody hard, it's fooking hard; just way too hard to be fun. I love this game, and I've managed to beat some of its crazy-hard endgame bosses like the Pure Vessel and Nightmare King Grimm, all while playing through the main game on Steel Soul Mode, but my god, please balance Godmaster out a little better or give us a way to earn those glorified charms I was hoping to see in this new DLC pack. It would be a good way to make all of this soul crushing defeat have a purpose besides making me feel dead inside.

You need all 20 bindings to unlock secret lore room.

Yeah, that's insanely hard right? 4 mask shards, a sliver of soul, a dinky nail that's barely as long as The Knight is tall, and no charms, all against dream bosses culminating with a fight against the Pure Vessel; oh, and no checkpoints. That's just impossible. That's the kind of thing I'd expect to see from gamers who spend weeks memorizing games so they can speedrun them without getting hit once. Not just anti-casual, but anti-hardcore. Obsessive levels of skill needed to complete a challenge which yields vital lore? That needs balancing.

It's not THAT vital, imo. It tells you about the Godseeker's past, but I don't see it as big a lore drop as even say PoP's scene.

Godmaster changes a man ;-;

I still think Godmaster could use some balancing. I really liked the idea of glorified charms, and I wish Team Cherry would bring them back. It would give us something to earn besides just fighting old bosses over and over. That's still fun, but there is zero late-game growth once you have all of the charm notches, mask shards, and soul vessels. There is still a ton of game left after that.

The point of this DLC is to put a little bit of lore and to act as the culmination of all of your experience. Most of it is bragging rights, really. Personally, this is my favorite DLC as it's given me the most objectives and playtime out of all of them.

Lmao they said they glorified almost every charm but they got tired so they couldnt put them in the game. But who knows maybe one day we will get them.

The charms are plenty strong as they are, in my opinion. You can definitely clear all of the content with what we have.

I mean, it wouldn't hurt to have a little more help against Pantheon of Hallownest or Nightmare King Grimm, Pure Vessel, etc. on Radiant difficulty in the Hall of Gods. None of this is stopping me from playing, but I really don't want to even attempt the Pantheon of Hallownest with no checkpoints. Most people don't just have time to burn away like that. It's a fun expansion, but starting over an hour-long boss rush is one of those things that sours a game for people.

You go in having a lot of fun, get really far, then die and have all of that progress wiped. Many people would give up and be mad at the game afterwards, which is not how you want to leave your customer if you were Team Cherry. The game is a masterpiece in every other sense; they just need to balance Godmaster so people aren't burnt out by it.

Dear Team Cherry, you want people to play the game with trainers? Because this is how you get them to play the game with trainers.

Not only I won't stand this punishing bullcrap difficulty, but also won't waste my time on replaying the same bit of the game without infinite health, because insanely flawed level and boss mechanics imply that's the only sane way of playing in such conditions.

I'm not saying anything is flawed about the bosses, on the contrary, they're all a ton of fun and beatable with practice, just that it'd be nice if the Pantheons saved our progress, or that they brought glorified charms back to give us things to earn while we're getting wrecked.

It's a boss rush, that's how it's supposed to work. The intended challenge is to go through the set of bosses in a row without dying and if you do die then you get to start over. That's the entire point, And it's also supposed to be harder than the rest of the content in the game. It's a pantheon to the gods and Hollow Knight's final big challenge. It's intended to be the most difficult thing yet that takes a massive amount of skill to beat.

I completely agree. A classic boss rush without checkpoints belongs in an extra mode, not intot the main game. It‘s quite positive to see the number of complaints increase, though, the more people access the new content.
