Sooo... The Collector
I have never been that pissed when playing this game. Even when I died to Pure Vessel 7 times in a row in Pantheon 4. The Collector is so far the only boss that is ridiculous in Pantheon 5 and ends my runs more frequently than anything else. How the ♥♥♥♥ do you defeat him? He's just so stupid because he keeps on spawning 300 spartan Aspids that absolutely destroy my health bar in no time, and not only do they take 2 hits from Pure Nail with Strength charm, but also fly behind other enemies and Collector, hiding and shooting. And while I understand "it's supposed to be hard" - Pure Vessel is very tough, because it requires skill, timing and quick reactions. The Collector is pure rng for me. Any tips?

Something that helped me a lot to avoid enemies getting away before i kill them:

Try to get as close as you can to them without taking damage from the jar itself before they spawn, then use your upward slash (might be easier with range charms). You'll be able to at least consistently delete an enemy instantly everytime if you practice, bonus point if it's an aspid.
You can also use that technique on the collector himself but normal slashes work fine on him, it's a bit more risky to strike him upward but you can get a few more hits in if you do it right.

In the case where the room gets flooded with enemies or you fail to kill the first enemy, do not hesitate to use your spell, it'll also deal damage to the collector. You get a lot of Soul from the trash mobs.

Do remember you can use your Shade Cloak to go through the first aspid shot to go kill it. They are always top priority. If you fail to kill a baldur, it's usually not too big of a deal, you can wait for it to line up with the collector to hit them both.

You can heal two or three times during his staggers if you do it right. If you're right next to him he'll jump over you most of the time.

Go practice him in the Hall of Gods until you have him down on ascended difficulty, if you can do it there, it won't be a problem in the boss rush.

Make sure you're able to easily handle the collector himself when he jumps around the room, you should be able to get a lot of hits in on him and comfortably navigate under his jumps just walking.

My charms: Mark of Pride, Unbreakable Strenght, Unbreakable Heart, Quick Slash

Thanks! I always tried normal slashes instead of upward ones. Also using the same charm setup. And I have no problem in handling him for as long as he's alone, the aspids are what really kicks me.

He's a pain but if you keep at it and refine your own way of dealing with him, you'll succeed, good luck with him!

Might seem counter productive but if all else fails... try being very aggressive.

Well that was my main strategy - deal with the threat before it deals with you. It worked on the Attuned difficulty and 3rd pantheon since I could slash-dash-slash-dash-slash every time he threw jars. And thanks! Luck is something I'll surely need for that battle :happymeat:

I actually don't like Dj's advice because collector on ascended and radiant completely nails you for being too aggressive since sometimes the primal aspids spit as soon as the jar breaks and sometimes they don't.

I do recommend using charge slash on the first jar and trying to line up a soul shot on the collector and remaining jars before running in and slashing that way everything takes one more hit and you should gain enough soul for another shot when he jumps back up.

Another strategy (if you can stay at full hp) is using grubbs elegy. Here's a good video on the fight, though I think he should have used his spells more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-aFnlwzaho

Don't play aggressive.

Here's another video since in pantheon you won't use elegy most likely, but YOU NEED RANGE on your nail, notice how far this guy spaces himself from the jars before he hits them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oB9a1EzlgsQ

I'll use Grubberfly's Elegy on Radiant, as I do with every Radiant fight. What is the second build though? I see Mark of Pride, Long Nail and Strength, but no Quickslash, and for me it's pretty much necessary for the other fights in the pantheon. Although... can I find a list of pantheon 5 bosses in order? Or just if you could remind me what is fought along with Collector (between the benches). But iirc there are Watcher Knights too, and if I'm right I'm not swapping out Quickslash.

Quickslash is a very helpful charm, but isn't absolutely necessary.

I think after the Collector is God Tamer, then Grimm, then a bench, like in the 3rd Pantheon.
After that, I can't remember. I know it goes Nosk, Sly, then Hornet Sentinel... but I can't remember what comes inbetween Grimm and Nosk. I think it was Watcher Knights and Uumuu?

EDIT: Found the list

1. Vengefly King
2. Gruz Mother
3. False Knight
4. Moss Charger

Don't make my sidenote last resort option sound like it's the central point of my advice because it isn't.

And this person isn't asking how to beat Radiant Collector, they are asking how to make the fight bearable in the boss rush. You're not going to go Elegy on the boss rush.

Also no, you don't need to stay that far if you practice to get consistency and learn the jar hitbox, you'll instakill whatever spawns next to you. All i see in this video is that the room gets easily filled with a lot of things to dodge.

Also the build i suggested works good enough on all bosses. It's not tailored for a boss in particular, it's a good, nail based jack of all trade build.

Hm... Lifeblood between the fights? Where? Is that a secret?

It's a reward for completing Pantheons with bindings.

You need to complete enough Bindings to open the blue door(to the right of the Hall of Gods entrance).

After completing 8 Bindings, the door opens, and after Dream Nailing the Lifeblood core, blue vines will sprout around Godhome and all rest spots in the pantheons will have a Cocoon that holds 2 Lifeblood(which increases by 1 for every 4 Bindings you complete after that), though it may be different on the beta(I heard that they buffed the Lifeblood in Godhome, but I'm not sure on the details).

So that's what that door is for... dammit. Idk if it's even worth it... Well, I may try that. Also, does it matter whether I get all bindings at once or can I do them separately?

You can do them separately

Either works, though doing them seperately will be way easier.
Currently I have...
1st pantheon; Nail, Shell, and Soul.
2nd pantheon; Nail, Shell, Soul, and Charm.
3rd pantheon; Nail, Shell*, and Soul.
4th pantheon; Nail, and Shell.
5th Pantheon; F*** THAT! I have accepted the fact that I will never be able to do the Bindings for the 5th Pantheon legit.

*The 3rd Pantheon Shell Binding was absolutely the hardest one of the Bindings that I could actually complete so far. I eventually said screw the Grey Prince, I'm using debug mode to skip passed him. 4th Pantheon Shell Binding was pretty hard too, but not as bad IMO.
