Game designs/mechanics I don't like
Look, it's fine, I'll deal with it, and hopefully beat it, but I'm really sick of having to fight bosses or minibosses that either directly summon minions or extra enemies show up.

Like how in the hell am I to defeat the Broken Knight, if infected balloons keep showing up. I just don't understand why, and I don't mean the concept of itself. I'm talking about the ridiculousness is that right after I kill one another IMMEDIATELY spawns again, creating some kind of infinite loop and when you don't kill one, more keep spawning just because.

I hate that in games, because it seems pretty obvious that the developers seem to think the boss/mini boss (when it is a mini boss) don't have faith in their boss as being challenging or difficult because in no way is it reasonable for other spawns to show up, let alone seemingly infinite.

I get that maybe it was included to prevent the player from healing their health, but already dealing with the boss is annoying when for some reason it moves in such a way I get hit and it can combo hits fairly easily. But I also have to worry about Infected Balloons on top of trying to kill the boss, do you know how annoyingly difficult it is, and its not even true difficulty either, it's just straight up annoying, because it's unfair to have the player split their focus like this.

And maybe certain bosses or mini bosses maybe they do warrant constantly summoning enemies, and its okay, but how the hell is anyone supposed to reasonably attack a fast and speedy boss character that can easily combo hit (the worst one was three hits, that I just couldn't recover from), but I also have to needlessly watch out for Infected Balloons to dodge them as well since killing them doesn't seem to give me a moment's peace (well except early in the beginning of the fight).

It's just difficult for a boss like this, to add distracting things like Infected balloons, it doesn't seem like its good design, in my opinion. It's like trying to focus on a very tricky fast enemy/boss but if you're not careful, you'll get attacked from behind from like the equivalent of a fireball. It's just too distracting.

And yes I realize most of you are pros and can beat all bosses on the hardest possible difficulty, blindfolded, two arms tied behind your back and you use a pencil to push the keys (or your face for a controller), all while not getting hit once.

Try out different tactics, perhaps the one you're using right now doesn't work that well. Positioning in combat is everything in this game, so experiment some with positioning in the Broken Vessel's arena for certain attacks. That should help you out some.

They are pretty weak though, a single swing should do it.

I'll admit, when I first fought the Lost Kin ( not the Broken Vessel, which I felt was easy enough, but his Dream version who is far faster, more aggressive, more accurate with his jumps to intercept you, and with more balloon backup), I struggled with him for a while. I didn't move on until I beat him, which took like 10 tries. Funny enough, he's much easier to fight once you get the Void Dash upgrade, and if you're not used to having it, the Monarch Wings for a second jump. Even though you get it after beating the Broken Vessel, I still had to get used to having a double jump which helps out a lot during the Lost Kin fight.
If I had decided to move on past him and get the Void Dash upgrade before coming back, it would've been significantly easier.

Besides "getting good", try using the Defender's Crest, Shroom Spore, or any minion charms to get your own back up against the balloons.

Probably you should upgrade your nail and change your charm setup.
With the right setup, you can one-shot the balloons with one normal nail strike.

It's best to up-attack infected balloons when you're on the ground, so you don't get any knockback.
Otherwise, you can equip Defender's Crest and let them take damage from your poison clouds.
You have to experiment a bit, but it's easy to make them trivial to kill, so you can focus more on the boss.

Infected balloons also refill your mana when you hit them. If you can 1-hit kill them, you have cheap way to refill yout mana, which you can use to attack Broken Vessel from a distance.

I can upgrade my nail, I had the 800 and Pale Ore to do it, but I lost the 800 when my shadow got trapped in a room I had no idea was a locked out room, tried to get it back, only to stupidly die before thinking of just using "Jiji"

Now I have no idea how to get 800 easily, at my level.

Then I'll go back to trying to defeat the Broken Vessel.

Charms are what you need. You can beat any bosses without any of them, but they're here to "help" you in the areas of the games you not totaly master yet.

Here, I would recommend glowing womb, quick slash, thorn of agony as main charms. (or maybe defender crest or ny other combination that take care of minions for you) It will allow you to both get rid of the minions, and facetank this boss by pure DPS.

Ouch, having to grind for geo is the worst.
Try going to the east tram station in City of Tears: back when I played, I thought the [enemies in] rooms around it had a good balance between not being too challenging and dropping geo at a somewhat fast rate.
Plus, I think one of the doors in the background of that zone has a room with a golden enemy hidden in it.

Bring fragile greed charm. it will help with the gring. also, gathering swarm, just in case.

In general, the best way to get geo mid game IMO is to equip fragile greed and kill the husk guard near the stag staton at forgotten crossroads.

Have you been collecting the money for grubs/artifacts? If not then you might have some geo waiting for you.

If you don't, then maybe you could go exploring, killing things along the way for more geo.

I remember getting to this part, and I'd foolishly dumped my geo in the fountain and didn't have any for the toll, so I then promptly wandered off and forgot to come back for a couple of hours, found plenty to do in the mean time.

Sure, it would have been a lot more conveniant to beat the boss sooner, but it all worked out fine in the end.
