Dream Nail Theory (What happens to ghosts)

So during my time playing hollow knight I always wondered what the dream nail did to ghosts. During my travels in hallownest, I think I figured it out. This idea started after I beat no eyes, One by one... their eyes closed at last. I felt it... a warm stillness falling over us.

I'm sorry I was frightened of you. You were always protecting us, even when we couldn't see you.

Take us there, please. A place where light can not haunt us, a place without dreams...Please...

While No eyes is clearly not right in the head, you'll see similar things said by other dream warriors, such as Xero,
Ah... I can see now. Those who turn against the King are doomed as soon as they raise their weapon.

Do not call me a traitor... Simply call me a fool.

I know you will not flee. Wherever you go... I will be watching.
A few times dream warriors will actually realize they are dead once being defeated like Markoth.
Never... have I been defeated in combat.

I can... see myself there, still sleeping. How long have I been hidden here?

Here at the edge of the world, no-one could find me... except you.

Warriors, knights, kings, even time itself... they have no power over me. Only you.

You are the darkness... come to consume me.
Many of the dream warriors will either come to grips with their own death, giving them some semblance of peace and usually they will say something about joining you. What happens to regular ghosts could be seen as the same thing, you are not ending their existance as a ghost, you are storing their very memory into the dream nail. This seems to me as it is basically a new resting place for the ghosts, a new home within the dream world. So as long as nothing happens to their essence, they will forever be safe within your nail. The part that seems not to make sense is the warrior ghost that protects all the ghosts from being dreamnailed in the resting grounds. The only adequate explanation I can give is simply that she doesn't know how the dream nail works, and is assuming that you are harming everyone you use it on. If anyone has any more evidence to bring to the table for or against my theory, I would love to hear it.

But about nailing ghost: nothing indicate in the game their "memories" are stored anywhere. You just take the Essence for yourself, and that's all, the memories are gone forever, only the essence as a "fuel" for your dream nail remain.

It's doesn't mean it was a bad thing! But you will have to justify your act another way.

At a side note: The dreams have a strange power in Hallownest. Dreams generate essence in one way or another. And these "essence" give birth to creatures: small ghosts, gosts warriors, ghosts bosses, and ultimately, Gods like radiance. Was Radiance initially a powerfull creature now dead and only the "dream" remaining (like dream bosses), or a different thing, I don't know.

Still sides notes: A "ghost" is not only born when a bug dies: We have 2 clear examples ot that: White defender, and Grey Prince Zote. Grey Prince Zote is very interressing as he reside in a statue, and was likely born by the dreams of a young bug.

So, how was born Radiance? And why he "resides" in the Hollow Knight?

The Radiance is a higher being, she was just born one day. She is not actually a ghost. The reason she is in the dream world is because the Pale king tried to wipe out her very memory one day and transferred her to the dream world. That is his special power. The radiance mad about this used her special power to make anyone who remembers her infected. The Pale king wanting to stop her tried to create a mindless vessel to seal the radiance's memory away forever, which was the Hollow Knight. Also, would you kindly tell me as to where it says that dream essence and the dreams are separate things and, how are memories transformed to just essence to charge the dream nail?
