My god.... that ending. WHAT JUST HAPPENED (SPOILERS)
MAJOR SPOILERS

........................... just saw the ending after beating pantheon 5. My god, now we know for sure that the Radiance is absolutely dead this time. And while I'm sitting there with my mouth open in shock at her exploding into pieces, I watch the rest of the ending with this feeling of horror and shock washed over me. Mouth still agape. Talk about creepy and dark. If you listen closely at first you can ever hear what sounds like sounds of horror and terror leaving the godseeker's mouth as the void drips down. Almost like she is thinking "No, no, no, no, no, what have you done!" Which is ironic considering she sought the gods..... and found one. But not the god of light she wanted.... but a god of pure darkness and terror it seems.

And then there is the weeping and quivering after we are back in the "real world." As black void drips from her every orifice. Man this ending is nuts. But it raises SO many questions, that seem to have no answers at all yet. Can't wait to see what mossbag on youtube makes of all this.

Anyway, am I the only one who felt absolutely lost after that ending? Who was the godseeker? What is the story behind those delicate flowers and their apparent power to destroy the void? Who was that approaching hornet after, the hollow knight? Where is this all leading?

Did you also watch the "alternate" ending? It will give you even more question.

Also, yeah, i think it is the REAL hollow knight, who went to see hornet. The one who was sealed inside the black egg. Since radiance is dead, he is probably set free now, since he's not infected anymore.

Well, I'm thinking of soooo many things now about this new ending. Like:

The "thing" that killed Radiance is our knight or the abyss itself? There is too much void to be our character.

Did you noticed that the "thing" looks like The Hunter? The eyes, the roar (if the one who meets Hornet is not the Hollow Knight, but the "thing"). And if so, then... does it mean that maybe The Hunter killed the previous gods in hallownest? You know, we don't know so much about him.

I know, maybe I'm imagining too much but this game can't keep my mind quiet, I need more opinions... and more content (please Team Cherry <3).

The abyss monster in the ending reminded me of the lifeblood creature

What i think, from this ending and the cutscene from pantheon 4 :

After beating radiance, our knight have fused with his every brothers in the void, becoming that monster.
However, because of how strong it was, it seem to have go on a rampage.
Hornet, who was waiting at the black egg... have met the Hollow Knight. Since he was freed from the infection, he could go free from his prison, but since he's part of the void too, he went on a rampage too. ( Thus, hornet being on guard the moment he saw him )

So, the Hornet DLC, will probably a campaign, to kill not the light, but the Void Itself. ( The bigass monster we saw, being the final boss. )

@Zeforas,
The Hollow Knight has a mind and will of its own, the ending happens like that because the hollow knight is dragging its nail on the ground and Hornet is surprised to see it so she draws her blade.

Isn't it implied that Hornet was a vessel built to feel since she was going to be Herrahs daughter. If so that means she is also part of the void

Onnisaurus, in a dialogue of Hornet, she says like "I was born like you but that part of you I don't share", so she isn't made of void. I don't remember if it is outside the black egg or when you're going to get the void heart.

Any other part of that dialouge that you are not mentioning since "that part" is not very specific

I don't remember the dialogue or the context well, but I'm like 99% sure she refers to void.

Yes.. The whole dialogue goes

Ghost. I see you've faced the place of your birth, and now drape yourself in the substance of its shadow.

Though our strength is born of similar source, that part of you, that crucial emptiness, I do not share.

Funny then, that such darkness gives me hope. Within it, I see the chance of change.

A difficult journey you would face, but a choice it can create. Prolong our world's stasis or face the heart of its infection.

I'd urge you to take that harder path, but what end may come, the decision rests with you.

Born of a similar source? What could that mean. Maybe they were born in void but i needed to be extracted to allow her to have feelings
Jdr_ Aug 29, 2018 @ 6:30pm
Born by similar source = made by the Pale King.

I think they both made of void but hollow knight is made to contain the radiance and he has to be hollow so hornet is like a normal child?
