Help - stuck in White Palace?

I haven't played this game since grimm troupe came out, and downloaded it again to play the new DLC. However, my save seems to be what is probably Path of Pain (totally forgot everything about it, but seems likely). I am at a bench, continuing forward is some platforming junk that I am not interested in, going backwards is more platforming junk. Am I pretty much softlocked here unless I continue? If so I will probably uninstall again lol.

Also I am unable to dream portal out as apparently I never used that function before.

Doesn't seem so because Up + Y doesn't do anything.

To be honest, Path of Pain is easier than the new DLC. XD I'd recommend just beating it or clambering out.

I am really not interested in doing the Meatboy stuff, I really only wanted to play the boss rush because the combat is my favorite part of the game. Really can't see myself playing this game again if I have to slog through this platforming stuff.

Cant you just go back? Its not so hard and if youve went it forward before then you can definetly go backwards.

From where you are, going back is the shortest path. To the left and down are some Wingmoulds (and of course the eternal sawblades), if you could just get past them you're set. Head down a screen, dash past the spikes and to your left is the exit.

Thanks a lot, I forgot how far in I went so I had no idea going backwards would be the shortest path out, made it now
