I think someone did some testing on this and the "number of times hit since Carefree Melody last triggered" is carried over between deaths. So yes, you can use CM to protect you in Radiant boss runs.
It is cheesy as heck, though.
Relying on luck instead of skills. Why would anyone do that?
Unless it's markoth.
F.uck you markoth.
Regardless, relying on Carefree Melody, and thus losing charm notches, rather than simply practising feels like shooting yourself in the foot; you lose notches that could be spent helping you beat the boss, rather than praying that if you get hit, you'll beat the 90% odds agains you.
I am just really frustrated how Team Cherry handled the pantheons (especially the last one). It's crazy how difficult they are, it just doesn't fit Hollow Knight to me.
Even the 4th pantheon makes every other challenge in the game look like childs play.
Radiance, Nightmare King Grimm, Zote lvl 10, White Defender lvl 5, the path pf pain, trial of fools (add here anything that could be considered the most difficult and time consuming challenges of the game, even though most of them aren't all that bad imo) and even beating the game in steel soul mode are made look like fodder and worthless accomplishments due to Godmaster's difficulty. Feel free to disagree and call me a casual and a trash tier gamer because at the end of the day that's what I am but I still really wish Godmaster was more reasonable.
