I may have found a new area and boss?

I knocked through a section of false wall in the Coliseum of Fools and came across an open chasm with a lake at the bottom. Following the lake led me to a creature I have found nowhere online - screamed at me sort of like the Dung Defender. Following this thing up a shaft was the only option so I did, and the floor closed behind me, trapping me in a roughly infinity-shaped room with this hopping, spike-dropping boss.
My Shade is in the room that closes behind me so I cannot get it without triggering the whole fight again, and theres no way to get more soul or anything during this very hard fight. Does anyone know where I have found myself or have any advice? I have not found this area on anyone else's maps of Kingdom's Edge, and have found nothing matching the creature I am fighting either.

Update: I have gotten my Shade back without triggering the fight by kiting it down the shaft that usually closes. I cant get out of the original chasm anyway so Im still stuck here until I die...please help!

Yeah.. that's the area for the new Godmaster expansion. Defeat that... creature thingy to get a Simple Key, which you'll use somewhere in Royal Waterways.

The fight isn't that hard if you tread carefully; you can Shade Soul the creature from afar as well to avoid the spike things it drops.

As for your shade... if you want to retrieve it without going into the area, just go and give Jiji a Rancid Egg. He'll get your shade for you.

... you can quit, you'll reload at the last bench you saved.

This is part of the new DLC, you have to fight the creature in order to unlock the new content
