Unlike Path of Pain or NKG, you can actually get through Trial of Fools while being really bad just by having the right strategy.
I would guess most people stuck on it are just taking the wrong approach, as in, wrong for THEM, since everyone has their own playstyle they feel most comfortable with.
I remember I couldnt get past the spikes/wall jump part for a while too, but then I realized what I was doing just wasnt working and I needed to change my approach completely.
For me, what completely changed the game, was to equip Nailmaster's Glory, and focus almost exclusively on using Great Slash/Cyclone Slash instead of normal nail attacks. The reason this works so well is, not only does Nailmaster's Glory take only one notch, leaving you free to go full defensive with the other 10 (Quick Focus + Deep Focus + Grubsong + Thorns being one of my favorite "foolproof" setups), Great Slash with a Pure Nail and the charm will charge almost instantly, have great range, and one shot almost everything in the trial (and the things it doesnt one shot, will die with the next normal attack, so they dont have time to do anything regardless).
This is incredibly useful for the "floor is spikes" part (which is where people have the most trouble), because you can charge up a slash while on the wall and instantly kill something as soon as it spawns, making it MUCH easier to manage the remaining enemies (since usually there are only 2-3 up at a time).
Another thing is to be smart about how you manage the waves of enemies, killing the hardest ones first and leaving the slowest ones alive so you can heal comfortably without getting hit (always leave a shield guy alive and youll be able to heal to full provided you have enough soul, which should never be a problem if you have Grubsong).
So yeah, if your strategy isnt working just go back to the bench, swap your charms around and try new things. Youll be amazed by how much easier it becomes when you find the right setup for you.
And yes, Nailmaster Glory was a must-equip charm for almost everything the moment I got it, so I was using it. I already experimented with so many charm builds that I just gave up on that and went with the one I was most comfortable with. I didn't take me further.
In fact, this trial is the ONLY thing in the whole game which frustrated me to the point I had no fun. I'd rather beat the game 106% on Steel Soul in one sitting without reload abuse than do this stupid trial.
if you do the first 2 twice with the double money charm youll have dubble as much (and More ) :P the ant has these charms try not to die .... but if your really smart just press pause before you loose the last life... and restart the game that way you can be stronger cuzz those charms and you actually dont loose it everytime you die ....
no need to give up on the game its only money :P ... <3
i gave up but still play amazingly with other bosses :) its getting harder and harder but its all possible one way or the other ... mix charms it really works :)
and now with the gods update.. the battle arena works the same but worse -...- its already driving me mental :P and i never put one skill on the battle :P
Fragile strength will almost always hellp you out in any situation <3
i love how people use diffrent styles thats what makes this game so amazing not one friend that plays it ever does anything the same as me/you but still somehow a outcome always happens if you keep trying and mixing things up....
ones ur really stuck use youtube 9+ something videos of an hour of a person that runs trough it like it is nothing (he probbably cuts all the failed atempts and puts only the good ones in the video but this game is amazing <3 ) dont ever give up
I personally maxed my nail out before i continiued playing
even the idk what it iss exactley but you kill the trees get those coins and in resting grounds that thingy in top he makes ur nail stronger too :)
and the charms fron that ant together make you pretty strong :)
my charms are always the same
in battle
- Steady Body - Quick Slash - Mark of Pride - Fragile Strenght -
When in chill mode
- Steady Body - Quick Slash - Wayward Compas - Gathering Swarm - Soul catcher or Stalwar shell -
i do try others but only if a boss really takes to long or bugs me out ><
Personally I think nailmasters glory charm is a must have and using the charge attack makes most enemies die in 1 or 2 hits, also if it's the only thing you cant do definitely have the unbreakable strength charm.
The new expansion imo is much harder than Trial of fools.
? unbreakable charm? just updated my comment sorray put my charms in it :)
Once upon a time, yeah.
Now you actually need to beat the third trial to progress further for the new DLC content.
Unbreakable charms are the... unbreakable counterparts for the Fragile ones (Strength, Greed, Heart). I.e. it doesn't break if you die while equipping them.
so were do were we get it ?
Talk to Divine while equipping the Fragile charms and she'll ask for it. Give it to her and talk to her a few more times to get it back at the cost of a lot of Geo.
Fragile Heart: 12,000
Fragile Greed: 9,000
Fragile Strength: 15,000
Divine is in the smaller tent from the Grimm Troupe.
If you banished the troupe, then you've missed your chance.
i never saw a trope yet =[ idk how to get there
bin trying this third coloseum again driving me mental yet again -.- 3 hours gone
its to much tho
