Do every boss on Radiant and then attempt Markoth
OK, ignore that
I only defeat ascended version, I choose only using nail art. I focus on dodging his nail rain, and attack him by charge slash only at the beginning and the ending of shield spinning.
Hope can help you
You know, I tried Ascended and only used Nail Arts as suggested. It went quite well until the second phase with the double shield because he began spawning spears in front of my face and I didn't have enough time to react to all of them.
I actually managed to beat Ascended Markoth. The Charm set that I used was Shaman Stone, Mark of Pride, Spell Twister, Soul Catcher, Nailmaster's Glory.
In my opinion, during the first phase, you need to chip as much Soul as you can out of him. I used Dash Slash Nail Art whenever he stopped moving and spun his shield covering half the stage. In the first phase, dodging the spears is much much easier. I avoided healing altogether to save Soul.
In the second phase, I went under him as he hovered around despite the threat of taking massive damage and casted Abyss Shriek 3 to 4 times and killed him.
It felt so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ satisfying obliterating Markoth on the second phase.
Now I think that regarding PoH, I will probably switch Shaman to Quick Focus as he has lower health and well, Grey Prince Zote is the next boss. While Grey Prince is not as hard as Markoth for me, I would say that going with very low health is kind of risky.
Agreed. But I think that at least I get to practice avoiding his spears during the first phase.
