The first Soul Warrior has 180 Hp(there is another Soul Warrior that has 300 Hp, you fight that one later to upgrade your fireball, after getting the Elegant Key).
Soul Master has 385 Hp(there is also an end-game version of Soul Master, called Soul Tyrant, which has 1250 Hp).
Old Nail (nail level 0) does 5 DMG.*
Sharpened Nail (nail level 1) does 9 DMG.*
Channeled Nail (nail level 2) does 13 DMG.
Coiled Nail (nail level 3) does 17 DMG.
Pure Nail (nail level 4) does 21 DMG.
Vengeful Spirit (fireball level 1) does 15x2 DMG.*
Shade Soul (fireball level 2) does 30x2 DMG.
Howling Wraiths (scream level 1) does 10x3 DMG.*
Abyss Shriek (scream level 2) does 20x4 DMG.
Desolate Dive (quake level 1) does 15+20 DMG.
Descending Dark (quake level 2) does 15+30+15 DMG.
Great Slash does 2.5xN DMG.
Cyclone Slash does 3/7x1.2xN DMG.*
Dash Slash does 2.5xN DMG.
I put asterisks by damage sorces that you either have, or can get at this point in the game.
Howling Wraiths is in Fog Canyon, acrossed the one room full of lightning bugs.
Cyclone Slash is up the wall of the starting area(While you CAN access it with just Mantis Claw, and the area is stupidly easy, I'm not sure if its worth going up there for just Cyclone Slash, since pretty much every other objective in the Cliffs area require abilities you don't have yet. Specifically, the Lumafly Lantern and the Dream Nail).
You'll get Desolate Dive at the end of the Soul Sanctum.
The upgrade for the fireball is also in the Soul Sanctum, but you have to come back for it later.
If you died a second time without retrieving your shade, just... grind to get 250 Geo. The Forgotten Crossroads has 2 Husk Guards you can kill for 45 Geo each and they're fairly near to each other plus a bench, rinse and repeat for 3 times should be enough for you to afford a Nail upgrade.
5 DMG vs 9 DMG is a lot of difference (36 vs 20 hits to kill Soul Warrior).
Unlocking the shortcut also gives you access to a Soul Fragment.
"Oh, well here are some tips to improve."
"Ugh ur all such fanboys this game is trash"
I genuinely can't tell if OP is trolling or not.
