Why the ♥♥♥♥ are every dlc area almost impossible to find unless you know it's there?
Do the devs think it makes you feel satisfaction when finding them? It doesnt!

Why would somebody have to depend on the wiki to find the dlc content? There's so many uncracked breakable walls you would never imagine them being there.

And btw, the hive entrance location is kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ too.

I think that the dlc areas aren't that hard to find...
Well, except White Defender. And Path of Pain. On those 2, I wholeheartly agree with you, it's not satisfying to look up content locations.

I must confess i had to look for the hive wall even tho i KNEW it was around...Because you can see it below you when getting a Grub close to the connection to the kingdom's edge.

I would have never expected to have a breakable wall that i had to break while jumping. I think there's only 2 of those and one is for a grub so skipped most of the time unless you hear him cry and move around every corner of the room. I think it was in the waterways and i found it after finding the hive and only thanks to the collector's map.

And the grimm troupe trigger...i doubt i would have found it easily because there's not much reason to go to the howling cliffs. I forgot they even exist after reaching them by complete accident

I just look up the guides immediately upon release. I don't go looking for the bonus content by myself. I did the exploration bit when first playing the game. Loved finding new stuff, meeting new NPCs. I don't like combing through already explored areas for the one new thing.

It's a massive world. I don't see why anyone would want to look for this stuff manually. Also I think TC usually gives hints on where to start looking for stuff, but anyway, people have already located where all the bonus content is and posted guides. Use it!

So when Grimm Troupe was released, you went and explored every corner of every area until you found the one random wall?

Seems pretty silly to me that it could take a player a dozen hours of looking to find the dlc content on his own. If you didn't look up the location of the Grimm main quest, you could easily spend more time finding it than beating it.

As someone who first started playing when three of the DLCs were already available (Switch version), I can attest the they are intended to be integrated into the game and best served for your first play-through. You might find some of them, you may miss others.

That to me is part of the charm, and it's one of the reasons I'm tempted to not finish the game until the final DLC is released.

This, for me, is the kind of game that I find what I find, and miss what I miss. When I make it to the end, it will be but a fond memory.

What's the point of denying the player from some of the best the game has to offer? I am missing the Grey knight zote because I forgot about him and he died in greenpath.

I'm fine with that. I just went with the bad "route" in this run. Killed menderbug, killed the Smith killed myla and banished the troupe.

I'll go the nicer route once g&g is out. But what's the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ point of denying you from the path of pain?

White palace and PoP has one of the best platforming I've seen in a video game. I have yet to beat PoP because of how hard it is but it feels amazing because of the control. WHY WOULD YOU HIDE THAT FROM THE PLAYER?

When Grimm Troupe came out, I was on my 1st playthrough. I was in City of Tears, beating Soul Sanctum. I found the Troupe by accident.

Ok. Let me try to phrase it more verbose.
I was playing Hollow Knight. At that time, Hidden Dreams was the only released expansion pack. I was in City of Tears, beating Soul Sanctum. Suddently, Grimm Troupe came out. I kept playing. Eventually, I made it to Howling Cliffs. I explored and accidentally found Grimm Troupe.
Happy now?

Bro you have to get on my level and hit every single possible wall in games where there are hidden walls. I found PoP during my white palace run and I had no clue it was there. But in all seriousness what your saying is true.

Secret secrets, secrets inside another secrets, secrets inside secret areas inside another secrets and once again secrets. By this point I'm just used to slashing, casting and dashing into every wall to find it all. And EVEN after 350+ hours and multiple finished runs I STILL FIND new secrets that I didn't know about. Recently I found out a somehow weird skip in deepenst under a path that I traveled at least 30 times already. By accident because I never looked down at this particular pit with sipkes. HOW THE F***?
Honestly though Jul 7, 2018 @ 10:27am
it's not fun to just run around the three rooms near the hive that might hold an entrane while all that buzzing taunts you. I found the hidden hive room and thought it would lead me in, but now I keep looking at everything, I saw the hive wall and assumed I should superdash, so I've been dashing from every height and angle now until I gave up and found this while looking for guides, at least have some dialogue or little clue to confirm your suspicions rather than have me flail in the dark to find bees.

Exactly. There's so many NPCs who could give you clues about it...The giant worm from Kingdom's edge for example could hit you about it. And the oldbug in dirtmouth could hint about some "strange torch" or aura on the cliffs.

The oldbug has actually no use in the entirety of the game other than complain about everybody going down the well ever since you meet him. (and he is the first npc you meet)

The issues for me is less finding something in a place you know where it exists and more finding something that could be anywhere. The Hive I found after racking my brains and checking every wall surrounding the area. Same for the path of pain, which I found chasing a hunch that there might be more to the Kingdom. On the other hand, when I beat the Radiance and went looking for fan art (as I usually do when I finish a game I love), I'm seeing characters I'd never found before and have no idea where they'd be. Not to mention one more door with a simple lock in the City of Tears, the key to which I have no idea where to look for.

I'm about thirty minutes from just looking up everything on the wiki.
