In case you are not already aware, Hollow knight is generally regarded as nontrivially difficult already.
Type this into the console if need be.
-screen-width 640 -screen-height 360
Play around with the resolutions depending on your monitor, that's just what I used. You may not have to set it this small to get it running smoothly either.
Edit: I might add, there's going to be an update soon that'll optimize the game greatly so it should run a lot better by then.
the game runs pretty well, with as mentioned some lag in some areas, but not many.
2.2ghz quad core
My laptop is pretty old and probably nowhere near specs, but I have pretty much zero lag outside of a single, rain-filled area in the game (and even then the lag wasn't problematic, just slightly annoying. Fully capable of dodging and doing a boss with it). If you have better system info, it will totally work.
so sometimes its closer to full on correct, sometimes its a bit looser.
but then sometimes the minimum is meant for decent performance.
with each developer it differs, but sometimes they can be off to were lower specs can run games perfectly fine.
